Construction of the General Secretary Le Duẩn Memorial Area is 99% complete.

Today, April 2nd, information from the Quang Tri Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board indicates that the unit is actively coordinating with construction units and contractors to urgently accelerate the progress of the Le Duẩn Memorial Area project, part of the "Preservation, Restoration, and Upgrading of Key Revolutionary Historical Relics in Quang Tri Province" project.

“During the project implementation, we instructed contractors to work overtime, increase shifts, and allocate more human resources to complete the project as quickly as possible. To date, the project is basically 99% complete,” informed Truong Huu Hieu, Deputy Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

Reportedly, the project has been underway since 2022 with a total investment of 45 billion VND from the central government budget.

The main investment items include: Preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of the memorial house. Upgrading the exhibition building into a memorial exhibition house. Renovating the architecture into a two-story building (with eight roofs) in the style of traditional Central Vietnamese houses. Renovating the main hall into a three-bay structure. Building a new management and reception building. Building new south and north gates. Upgrading and beautifying the sign introducing the riverbank historical site. Restoring and renovating the riverbank embankment and steps. Restoring the commemorative plaque. Building a new building for community activities.

In addition, the project includes the construction of items such as outdoor electrical and lighting systems; outdoor water supply and drainage systems; outdoor fire hydrant systems; security surveillance systems; gardens, fences, landscaping, and other auxiliary items.

According to Phan Thanh Nhat, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the General Secretary Le Duẩn Memorial Area and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, after three years of project implementation, the reception of visitors has been somewhat interrupted. Currently, construction is being expedited to ensure handover in time for the 118th anniversary of General Secretary Le Duẩn's birth, to serve visitors coming to pay their respects and tour the memorial area.
