Seminar "Cinema and Tourism"

(To Quoc) - On the morning of December 7th, a professional seminar with the theme "Cinema and Tourism - Connecting and Reaching Further" was held in Tuyen Quang city.

The event, organized by the Tuyen Quang Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnam Film Association; the Vietnam Film Department; the Vietnam Film Institute; the Vietnam National Tourism Administration; and the Asian Tourism Development Institute, is part of the "Cinema with Tourism in Tuyen Quang Province" promotion program in 2024 and took place over three days from December 5th to 7th.

Overview of the conference

The workshop was attended by numerous experts on cultural, economic , and film development policies, as well as reputable filmmakers from both Vietnam and abroad. Through presentations and contributions from experts, the workshop is expected to propose solutions and plans to further promote the development of cinema and tourism in Tuyen Quang province in particular, and other localities in general, in the coming time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province, said that with a new vision, Tuyen Quang province has determined that cinema is not only one of the advantageous cultural industries, but also plays an important role in promoting and spreading the value of cultural heritage and tourism effectively to friends at home and abroad.

Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province, delivered a speech at the workshop.

With its potential, strengths, and tourism development orientation, along with the support and facilitation from central ministries and agencies, especially the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the close guidance of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee; the decisive involvement of the tourism industry; and the cooperation of the tourism service business community, Tuyen Quang is gradually becoming one of the attractive tourist destinations for domestic and international visitors.

Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong expressed his hope that, following today's "Cinema, Tourism - Connecting and Reaching Further" seminar, Tuyen Quang will have new directions for developing cinema - one of the prominent cultural industries and a strength linked to the development of heritage and tourism in Tuyen Quang in the coming time.

"At the same time, with the sincere and valuable feelings of the people of Tuyen Quang, the province will soon welcome you back in a new role, with new projects that will contribute to bringing the image of the land and people of Tuyen Quang to friends at home and internationally. We are committed to accompanying and creating all favorable conditions for businesses and film producers to invest in projects developing culture, tourism, and film... in the province," Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong emphasized.

The workshop consists of two sessions.

Also within the framework of the program, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang Province, in coordination with the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, organized an exhibition of photographs titled "Unique Filming Locations in Tuyen Quang," featuring approximately 100 photos showcasing the cultural colors, unique and outstanding scenic spots of Tuyen Quang, and typical cultural spaces of the province.

At the workshop, experts and invited delegates exchanged and discussed the connection between "Cinema and Tourism: Connecting for Greater Reach". The workshop consisted of two sessions. The first session, chaired by Mr. Do Le Hung Tu, President of the Vietnam Film Association, focused on the theme "Cinema and Tourism - Connecting for Greater Reach". The second session, chaired by Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tinh Hoa Thao Moc Phuong Dong Joint Stock Company, focused on the theme "Solutions for Cooperation to Promote the Development of Cinema and Tourism in Tuyen Quang Province".

Earlier, on the evening of December 6th, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province organized the opening ceremony of the program, featuring a red carpet event and the premiere and introduction of the film "Journey to the Land of Legends".
