Scientific Workshop "Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong with Cao Bang (1st time)

On December 28 , 2023 , the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations coordinated with the Institute of History (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) to organize the Scientific Workshop "Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong with Cao Bang (1st time). Attending were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and a number of relevant departments and branches.

Report on the scientific seminar on the topic "Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong with Cao Bang " with the following contents: Overview of the history of the formation of Cao Bang province; The process of researching and finding information about Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong with Cao Bang; Historical and cultural values of Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong in the life and activities of the Tay and Nung people; Homeland and origin of Thuc Phan in the Nam Cuong state. The topic is chaired by the Union of Science and Technology Associations , Comrade Nong Hai Pin, former Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, former Vice Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations as the chairperson , the topic is implemented for a survey of 17 months (from July 2022 to December 2023) .

The scientific conference aims to research and clarify the conclusion: The homeland and origin of Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong is in Cao Bang. From there, a plan to preserve cultural and historical relics related to Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong is developed . as a basis for compiling records of sites, relics, and artifacts proposed for ranking as provincial-level historical and cultural relics.

The workshop presented papers including : Dong Son culture in Cao Bang; Megalithic relics in Cao Bang at the end of the Bronze Age; Ethnic issues of people living in Cao Bang province in ancient times; Overview of research by domestic and foreign scholars from the past to the present on Thuc Phan; The issue of Nam Cuong State and the origin of Thuc Phan in history; Discussion of place names, relics, and artifacts related to Thuc Phan and Nam Cuong State in the legend "Cau chua cheng vua"; Comparison of architecture and construction techniques of Ban Phu citadel - Nam Binh capital of Nam Cuong country and Co Loa citadel - The capital of Au Lac country; The process of unifying the Tay Au - Lac Viet community; The relationship between the Tay and Nung communities (Vietnam) and the Choang group (China) in ancient times; The traditional worship of Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong and its current status; Initial research on Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong in Cao Bang through intangible culture.

Discussing at the workshop, delegates proposed solutions for the research group to continue improving the quality of the topic.

After the workshop, the research group continued to collect and supplement the issues that were suggested for completion; Develop a research plan on Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong as an independent scientific topic at the state level; Supplement and edit to deeply highlight the role and position of Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong in the history of the Vietnamese people in the first period of building and defending the country of our nation. The workshop is a favorable condition for historians, central and local researchers to continue to delve into, research, and survey some issues that have not been clarified about Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong in the history of Cao Bang in particular and the history of Vietnam in general .
