Hojlund is ready to leave MU in the summer of 2025. |
According to The Athletic , Hojlund had previously stated his desire to stay and compete for a place in the team. However, being left out of the Arsenal match despite not being injured caused the 22-year-old striker to change his mind. La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Hojlund is ready to agree to a transfer in the summer of 2025.
AC Milan have contacted him, while RB Leipzig have also expressed interest. Instead of leaving on loan, the Danish striker wants to be sold outright by MU to avoid a repeat of speculation about his future extending into 2026.
Manchester United paid Atalanta £72 million for Hojlund in 2023, but after 95 appearances and 26 goals, he failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. The arrival of Benjamin Sesko further hampered Hojlund's ability to secure playing time.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Andre Onana was also dropped from the squad, making way for Altay Bayindir to start. Many believe this decision is related to Onana's future, but according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Cameroonian goalkeeper believes this is only a temporary arrangement as he has only recently recovered from a hamstring injury and has only trained for three sessions.
Despite being in fairly good physical condition, Onana accepted manager Ruben Amorim's decision and believes he will return for the next away game against Fulham. The match against Arsenal showed that MU paid the price early on, as Bayindir made a mistake leading to the only goal conceded.
Corner kick magic helps Arsenal beat MU. On the evening of August 17th ( Hanoi time), Arsenal defeated MU at Old Trafford thanks to a goal from a corner kick.
