The Ministry of Education and Training has released the statistics for the first round of university admissions in 2023.
This year, the number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam is 1,002,100, of which 660,258 registered for university admission, accounting for 65.9%.
The number of candidates admitted in the first round was 612,283, accounting for 61.1% of the candidates who took the high school graduation exam and 92.7% of the candidates who registered for admission.
The number of candidates who confirmed their enrollment in the first round on the system was 494,488, accounting for 49.3% of the total number of candidates who took the high school graduation exam and 80.8% of the total number of candidates admitted in the first round on the system. This year, the number of candidates who confirmed their enrollment compared to the number of admitted candidates is lower than in 2022. Last year, this ratio was 81.6%.
Confirmation of enrollment is a mandatory requirement for all candidates who wish to study at the school they have been accepted into.
Each university has its own admission plan and will notify applicants via email, phone number, or acceptance letter. Therefore, after confirming enrollment on the system, students need to regularly check their email for information about their enrollment account, enrollment procedures, and follow the university's instructions.
According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who do not confirm their enrollment within the specified time frame, without a valid reason, will be considered to have declined the opportunity to study. Candidates who were not admitted in the first round may participate in supplementary admission rounds if they meet the eligibility requirements, as announced on the admissions websites of the educational institutions.
After September 9th, educational institutions may announce supplementary admission rounds. Candidates who were not admitted in the first round should monitor information from the schools to register for the supplementary admission rounds within the specified timeframe. The supplementary admission rounds will take place from October to December 2023.
Upon admission and enrollment, candidates will need to prepare the following basic documents: Admission notice (original); Student/Applicant's resume (admission application); Temporary high school graduation certificate (or equivalent) for candidates graduating in 2023; High school diploma (original and notarized copy) for candidates graduating before 2023; High school transcript (notarized copy and original for verification); National identity card or citizen identification card (notarized copy), youth union membership book; Copy of birth certificate; Health examination certificate; Documents and certificates of preferential treatment, 3x4 passport photos.
Male candidates must submit a copy of their military service registration certificate and a certificate of absence from registration issued by the Military Command.
