FPT has announced a partnership with Mishima Kosan, a leading manufacturing company in Japan, to jointly develop a next-generation AI-powered manufacturing platform and promote innovation through digital technology in production. Combining FPT's AI infrastructure with the MK Solution Cloud platform, operating in a cloud environment, is expected to create a large-scale digital manufacturing platform, streamlining development processes, eliminating the complexity of on-premises systems, and enhancing global competitiveness.

“The Japanese manufacturing industry is entering a phase of AI-based innovation to enhance productivity and long-term competitiveness. This collaboration will combine the power of AI, cloud computing, technical capabilities, and extensive manufacturing experience to help businesses modernize faster, operate smarter, and move towards a sustainable, next-generation production model,” said Mr. Do Van Khac, Director of FPT Japan - FPT Group.

Viettel AI and Linker Vision, a Taiwan-based company specializing in computer vision and smart city monitoring and analysis, have recently signed a cooperation agreement to develop AI solutions for smart cities. This collaboration aims to create urban management solutions capable of image recognition, situational analysis, and real-time decision-making, such as traffic safety monitoring, public order management, and early risk warning.

This is a crucial foundation for cities to gradually shift from a reactive management model to a proactive, data-driven, and AI-based management model. Both sides also promote in-depth cooperation in several key areas: co-development of AI technologies such as computer vision, multimodal AI, and predictive analytics; assessing the feasibility of localizing Linker Vision solutions and optimizing algorithms according to domestic technical standards; and strengthening various professional exchange programs and technical workforce training to enhance AI development capabilities for both sides.

“This is a crucial opportunity for Viettel AI to expand its capacity to develop AI solutions for smart cities, contributing to solving pressing problems in major cities. This is also a strategic step to help Viettel AI expand its AI ecosystem and contribute to promoting the national digital transformation process,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Manh Quy, Director of Viettel AI…

Enhancing AI competitiveness

Recently, AI – the integration of AI into all processes, products, and services to improve efficiency – has become increasingly evident. According to Dr. Chau Thanh Duc, representative of Zalo AI development, in the last 2-3 years, the AI process has been accelerating and expanding in scope. Global AI is driven by several factors: AI models are becoming more sophisticated and have higher practical application potential; open sources make these models readily available, facilitating access for a wider audience.

Furthermore, hardware power is constantly increasing, capable of handling complex systems; the explosion of data allows for increasingly better training of AI models. In addition, the widespread digital transformation in businesses and organizations has created conditions for AI to strongly penetrate operational activities.

Dr. Tran Minh Quan explained that many major challenges are emerging. In the context of increasingly serious personnel shortages, harsh working conditions, and high risks, replacing humans in dangerous positions with robots has become the optimal choice.

Furthermore, the trend of relocating factories and production lines to areas with higher labor costs also necessitates balancing operating costs. In addition, businesses increasingly desire robots capable of thinking, learning, and adapting without requiring hardware changes, and Physical AI is expected to meet these requirements.

According to John Roese, Global Chief Technology Officer and Head of AI at Dell Technologies, AI is accelerating and will not only change individual processes but also restructure the entire way businesses operate, shifting dramatically from experimentation to large-scale practical deployment. To bridge the gap in AI capabilities and human resources, a collaborative ecosystem connecting technology, talent, and partners is a prerequisite for enhancing the region's AI competitiveness.

At the Zalo AI Summit 2025 recently held in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Tran Minh Quan (Nvidia Corporation) predicted that the wave of Physical AI will become the trend in the coming years. In the next five years, the world may witness a moment likened to "ChatGPT for the robotics industry," ushering in a new wave for the manufacturing industry.

Physical AI can be understood as a class of AI capable of listening, understanding commands, and producing output that directly impacts the physical world through robots, machines, and automated systems.
