According to The Verge , Apple and Samsung are planning to produce foldable phones with a square design and wide aspect ratio. However, it seems Huawei will be quicker to act.
The Chinese company has just revealed the design of the Pura X Max, a new foldable phone set to launch next week, which closely resembles leaked information and predictions about the iPhone Fold.
There isn't much information yet about the foldable phone set to launch on April 20th, alongside the colorful Pura 90 series, but initial images shared by Huawei show blue, white, orange, and black versions, all featuring a triple rear camera setup.
The rear design is inspired by the original Pura X launched last year, a model that also featured a larger screen than other foldable phones. Huawei has experience in this field and isn't simply following trends.
The X Max looks like a combination of classic foldable design and book-like form factor, and also brings to mind early foldable phones like the first-generation Pixel Fold or Oppo's Find N.
It's noteworthy that in Huawei's promotional images, people are using the phone in both portrait and landscape modes.
Last week, a device believed to be a prototype of a foldable iPhone with a wide screen aspect ratio surfaced. Simultaneously, there are rumors that Samsung is developing a wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold. However, neither Apple nor Samsung are certain to launch these products in the second half of this year.
