Hue is expected to welcome 1.9 million international tourists in 2025.

On December 12th, the People's Committee of Hue City announced that in 2025, the number of tourists visiting the city will increase sharply, reaching approximately 6.3 million, exceeding the plan by nearly 13% and increasing by 61.5% compared to 2024; including 1.9 million international tourists, with tourism revenue reaching 13,000 billion VND, an increase of nearly 41% and over 64% respectively.

The sharp increase in tourist numbers reflects the city's strong efforts to attract visitors; affirming Hue as a leading tourist destination in Vietnam, despite being severely affected by natural disasters. During September-November 2025, Hue city was continuously affected by storms and floods. Particularly, the historic floods in late October and early November 2025 seriously impacted tourism, as many historical sites within the Hue Imperial Citadel complex had to temporarily close for several days due to flooding.

The successful hosting and organization of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 activities has given Hue tourism a boost this year. With the theme: "Ancient Capital - New Opportunities," the activities and events of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 focus on four main program groups: the Spring Festival - "Spring in the Ancient Capital"; the Summer Festival - "The Shining Imperial City"; the Autumn Festival - "Hue in Autumn"; and the Winter Festival - "Winter in Hue."

Along with unique activities such as the Hue Festival - "Culinary Capital", the "Community Ao Dai Festival"..., the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 has brought a vibrant year of tourism with a series of events, festivals, and unique art programs aimed at honoring heritage values and experiencing the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

Hue successfully organized unique cultural activities and festivals, reflecting the distinctive characteristics and cultural identity of Hue, within the framework of the National Tourism Year. These included: the opening art program of the National Tourism Year, the Hue - Culinary Capital Festival, the Mega Booming music event; tourism events related to cuisine, Ao Dai fashion, street art; and activities during the Health Care Week. Hue also successfully co-hosted the Miss Vietnam Finals, the 14th East Asia Regional and Local Government Conference; and launched the Grab cyclo service - Ancient Capital, New Experience. These events and activities created highlights, stimulated demand, and attracted domestic and international tourists.

Furthermore, Hue's tourism promotion and marketing efforts have been intensified in a professional and expanded manner during the Culture and Tourism Week. The city organized programs to introduce Vietnamese tourism, cuisine, and traditional crafts, connecting businesses during the National Tourism Year; and created experiential spaces to promote Hue's culture, tourism, and cuisine within the framework of the Vietnam-Korea Culture Day. Hue collaborated with localities in Korea and China in promoting destinations, facilitating the opening of Hue-Incheon and Hue-Shenzhen air routes; maintaining effective regional linkages between Quang Tri, Hue, and Da Nang; and boosting promotion in European markets.

On the same day, the Quang Ninh Museum held a ceremony to welcome its one millionth visitor in 2025. This marks a significant milestone in the museum's growth compared to previous years, contributing to the goal of welcoming over 20 million visitors to Quang Ninh in 2025.

The lucky one millionth visitor to the Provincial Museum was Mr. Lionel Klotz from Canada. He and his wife were traveling to Quang Ninh on a tour organized by Saigon Travel Company. Mr. Lionel Klotz shared: "This is my first time visiting the Quang Ninh Museum, and today I am truly happy and surprised to be the one millionth visitor. I am very impressed with the warm welcome, the beautiful scenery, and the friendly people. I love Vietnam and will definitely come back here with my friends.”

Mr. Do Quyet Tien, Director of the Quang Ninh Museum and Library (the unit managing the Quang Ninh Museum), said: "2025 marks a dramatic increase in the number of visitors to the Quang Ninh Museum, and the one millionth visitor is an impressive milestone and record. This is a special event that commemorates the efforts of the Quang Ninh Museum over the past time. In the future, the Museum will continue to innovate the content, methods, and exhibition space, applying modern technologies such as 3D technology, virtual technology, and digitalization to help visitors have impressive experiences when they come here."

According to statistics, in 2025, the Quang Ninh Museum will receive an average of over 1,000 visitors per day, with June 2025 reaching a peak of 13,400 visitors per day. Revenue up to the end of November is approximately 30 billion VND, exceeding the same period last year by 33%.

The Quang Ninh Museum, located on Tran Quoc Nghien Street in Ha Long Ward (Quang Ninh Province), was designed by Spanish architect Salvador Pérez Arroyo, drawing inspiration from the image of coal. It attracts tourists not only for its unique architecture but also for its diverse collection of artifacts showcasing the historical and cultural traditions of this mining region.

The Quang Ninh Provincial Museum and Library complex was completed in October 2013, with a total investment of over 900 billion VND. This complex is not only a cultural institution preserving and displaying historical artifacts and natural and cultural values of Quang Ninh province, but has also become a symbol and an attractive destination in tours exploring Ha Long Bay.

The museum comprises two areas. The outdoor area displays large artifacts such as missile launchers, anti-aircraft guns, cannons, ancient artillery pieces, statues, and especially a block of anthracite coal weighing approximately 28 tons, mined at a depth of -176m and recognized by Guinness World Records Vietnam as the largest monolithic anthracite block in Vietnam. The indoor area, spread across three floors, depicts the most basic and distinctive features of Quang Ninh province, both spatially and temporally, from the mountains to the plains and coastal areas, with artifacts of high scientific value.

According to information from the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 11 months of 2025, Quang Ninh province welcomed over 19.8 million tourists, with total tourism revenue reaching approximately 52,600 billion VND, representing increases of 10% and 21% respectively compared to the same period in 2024.
