Effective ways to escape poverty

Recognizing that labor export is one of the important solutions for rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, Tuyen Quang province has implemented many measures in recent years. Through these programs, many workers in the province have chosen to work abroad, helping them earn higher incomes, escape poverty, and enrich their families and hometowns.

A breakthrough in job creation.

The Provincial People's Committee directed relevant agencies and units to review needs, disseminate information, encourage workers, guide labor export service businesses to register for the project, appraise and select good orders and contracts to recruit workers, focus on supporting businesses, and resolve difficulties in the implementation process at the local level.

The family of Ms. Khong Thi Tinh, from Dong Troi village, Binh Ca commune, was previously very poor. Thanks to the support of the local government, she boldly registered to work in Taiwan, and later her two children continued to register to work in Japan. Ms. Tinh happily shared: “This spacious house is thanks to working abroad in Japan. Since my children went to work abroad, they send back tens of millions of dong every month. With the money, my family built a house, invested in a production and business model, and put the rest in the bank to earn interest. Our family's life is much better than before.”

Mr. Ha Van Bang from Bac Quang commune said: “After participating in the job fair organized in the area, I chose to work in agriculture in South Korea with an income of 40 to 50 million VND per month. With a stable income, I sent money back to build a spacious house and accumulated capital to open a business to increase my family's income. These achievements would never have been possible if I hadn't dared to work abroad.”

Creating momentum for local economic development.

Labor export not only helps individuals and families escape poverty but also creates a strong impetus for the socio-economic development of the entire province. Many returning workers have become successful entrepreneurs, applying advanced knowledge and technology from abroad to production and business, creating more jobs for local people.

After working in Japan for two years, Mr. Dao Van Hieu, from Tan Quang village, Kim Binh commune, accumulated over 1 billion VND in capital. With experience in the animal feed industry, he opened a livestock feed store. Even more proactively, he assisted his sister's labor export consulting company in opening a Japanese language class locally, inviting experienced instructors to teach and maintaining regular classes for 8-10 workers in the commune who wish to work abroad.

The poverty rate in the province has decreased rapidly and sustainably in recent years, demonstrating a significant contribution from labor export activities. Currently, Tuyen Quang province is striving to diversify markets, improve the quality of labor, and strengthen cooperation with reputable partners to ensure the best interests of workers, expanding labor markets to developed countries such as Japan, South Korea, and European countries...

According to data from the Department of Internal Affairs, since the beginning of the year, more than 800 workers in the province have gone to work abroad under contract. The goal for 2025 is to send 1,500 people to work abroad throughout the province, with a focus on poor workers to increase their income and create a sustainable path out of poverty.

Comrade To Hoang Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, stated: “In the coming time, the Department of Internal Affairs will strengthen coordination with functional agencies and localities to effectively implement the work of sending workers in the province to work abroad. We will guide and issue permits to units and businesses employing foreign workers in accordance with regulations. At the same time, we will strengthen propaganda on programs, the labor market, and the effectiveness of labor export, effectively implementing support policies on vocational training and preferential loan sources for workers in the province who wish to work abroad... This will help improve the quality of labor, create jobs, and increase income for workers in the province.”
