Heading towards heroic Quang Tri

(CLO) On March 12th, in Hanoi , Tien Phong newspaper held a press conference to announce the 66th National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025. This year's tournament will be held in Quang Tri province, a heroic land with many historical revolutionary relics.

Speaking at the press conference, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper and co-chairman of the organizing committee - emphasized: "The Tien Phong National Marathon and Long Distance Championship transcends the boundaries of a purely sporting event and continues to grow stronger each year to become a series of particularly meaningful political , economic, social, cultural, sports, and tourism events, contributing to the development of each locality where the race takes place."

The 2025 tournament will take place from March 28th, with many meaningful activities such as: paying respects to fallen heroes at Truong Son Cemetery, Duong 9 Cemetery, and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel; releasing lanterns on the Thach Han River; and donating houses of compassion in Quang Tri province. Particularly, the highlight of the tournament will be the flag-raising ceremony at Hien Luong - Ben Hai, a historical site associated with the pain of the country's division.

"After half a century, right here on the banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai, thousands of athletes and Miss Vietnam 2024 contestants will join together to sing 'The Marching Song,' spreading pride, gratitude, and appreciation for the unified image of Vietnam," journalist Phung Cong Suong shared.

The total prize money for the 66th Tien Phong National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025 amounts to nearly 700 million VND in cash, along with many other valuable prizes. This year's tournament features a total of 131 individual and team awards, making it one of the most diverse prize systems in the national athletics scene.

"With all our patriotism and responsibility for the development of national sports, we believe that, with thorough preparation, the 2025 tournament will not only be a day for athletes to conquer the highest peaks, but also a day when the willpower, strength, and resilience of the Vietnamese people shine," journalist Phung Cong Suong affirmed.
