PSSI is urgently looking for a new Technical Director to replace Mr. Indra Sjafri, who has just been appointed to become the coach of the Indonesian U23 team.
Oliver Kahn has just been sacked by Bayern Munich
It was once suggested that PSSI would put Akira Nishino, former coach of the Japan and Thailand teams, to the position of Technical Director.
However, Bola newspaper confirmed, the Japanese strategist is not the target that PSSI targets.
"PSSI is promoting cooperation with the German Football Federation, including asking this partner to help find a good expert to be the technical director," Bola reported.
Notably, the newspaper of thousands of islands revealed that PSSI is targeting former German football player - Oliver Kahn.
Not long ago, Oliver Kahn was fired from the position of CEO by Bayern Munich on the day "Gray Lobster" won the Bundesliga.
"Nothing is certain yet, let's wait and see," Bola quoted Arya Sinulingga, PSSI Executive Committee member as saying about the invitation to Oliver Kahn.
According to Mr. Arya Sinulingga, the new Technical Director will outline specific and long-term goals and plans for Indonesian football.
Along with that is continuing to make decisions on the issue of player naturalization that PSSI has started before.
Recently, Indonesia has made a move that makes Southeast Asia admire when inviting the Argentina team to play a friendly match on FIFA Day in June.
Worth mentioning, PSSI is said to have spent up to 16 million USD (about 376 billion VND) to organize the match with the reigning world champion.
