According to international sources, discussions between Intel and Apple are currently in the preliminary stages, but this move suggests Intel still hopes to resume its relationship with one of its largest chip customers. Previously, Apple used Intel chips in its Macs, but since 2020 has shifted to developing its own chips to achieve technological self-reliance.

Over the years, Intel has lost market share to AMD and Nvidia, particularly in the artificial intelligence sector – where Nvidia dominates. The company has also struggled with its "foundry" model expansion strategy due to a lack of long-term customers. However, US government financial support packages have helped Intel's stock recover, restoring investor confidence.

For Apple, while it's unlikely they'll return to using Intel chips in their flagship products, any investment – ​​if it happens – could open up opportunities for collaboration in high-end semiconductor technologies, especially as Apple is pushing its manufacturing strategy in the US. CEO Tim Cook has previously stated that Intel's recovery would create a healthy competitive environment, fostering innovation across the industry.

First, the alliance between OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank announced plans to build five new AI data centers in the United States, codenamed "Stargate," with an expected investment of up to $500 billion. This is seen as a key step in expanding the infrastructure for artificial intelligence applications over the next decade.

Simultaneously, Alibaba announced a strategic partnership with Nvidia to develop AI products and expand its global data center network. This news propelled Alibaba's stock to a four-year high.

The results of the investigation could lead to the imposition of large-scale additional tariffs.

In the wave of AI investment, Nvidia has committed up to $100 billion to OpenAI, while also providing central data chips. Nvidia will also invest $5 billion in Intel in exchange for new shares, demonstrating a repositioning among the tech giants.
