The iPhone 17e uses the A19 processor, has double the storage to 256 GB, and is priced 1 million VND higher in Vietnam than its predecessor.

Apple launched the iPhone 17e on March 2nd. This is a more affordable version of the iPhone 17 series, an upgrade from last year's iPhone 16e. The product retains the familiar design with an aluminum frame, flat edges, a single rear camera, and a notch at the top of the screen.

Similar to other iPhone 17 models, Apple uses Ceramic Shield 2 glass for the front of the iPhone 17e, which provides three times better scratch resistance than the previous generation, while also improving anti-glare capabilities.

The iPhone 17e's screen retains the same 6.1-inch size, Super Retina XDR technology with an OLED panel, and a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits. The device integrates an Action button on the left side for quick activation of certain pre-set tasks.

In terms of hardware, the iPhone 17e is equipped with the A19 processor (3nm process). Compared to the A19 in the standard iPhone 17, this version has 4 graphics cores (GPU) instead of 5, while the CPU remains at 6 cores.

The iPhone 17e incorporates Apple's own C1X network modem. This is the same modem used in last year's ultra-thin iPhone Air.

Compared to the C1, Apple claims the C1X offers twice the connection speed. This modem is also 30% more energy efficient than the one used in the iPhone 16 Pro. The company claims the iPhone 17e's battery life reaches up to 26 hours, unchanged from the previous generation.

As rumored, the iPhone 17e features a MagSafe magnetic charging port, allowing for more secure attachment and attachment of accessories. The device uses a USB-C port and supports fast charging, reaching up to 50% battery in 30 minutes. It is also compatible with the Qi2 wireless charging standard, offering a maximum power of 15W.

The iPhone 17e features a 48MP rear camera. By default, it shoots at 24MP, but users can switch to 48MP. The 2x zoom option allows for zooming in on images while maintaining sharpness, eliminating the need for a dedicated telephoto camera.

Apple emphasizes the subject recognition capabilities of the iPhone 17e camera. With the new Focus and Depth Control systems, users can adjust the background blur after shooting. The next-generation HDR algorithm improves skin tone reproduction, ensuring realistic colors.

The iPhone 17e supports Dolby Vision 4K video recording at a maximum frame rate of 60 fps. It can also record 360-degree audio (Spatial Audio), and includes an Audio Mix mode for fine-tuning the sound after recording.

This year, the iPhone 17e adds a light pink color option alongside white and black. In Vietnam, the device starts at 18 million VND for the 256GB storage, with the 128GB option no longer available. This price is 1 million VND more expensive than the starting price of the iPhone 16e.

Besides the 128GB version, the iPhone 17e also comes in a 512GB version priced at 24.5 million VND. Pre-orders opened on March 4th, and the product is expected to be available on March 11th in markets such as the US, Japan, and Malaysia.
