Jose Mourinho fired again

TPO - Famous coach Jose Mourinho has been fired for the fifth consecutive time in his coaching career. This time, his contract with Fenerbahce was terminated less than a month into the new season.

Early yesterday morning, Fenerbahce lost 0-1 away to Benfica and officially missed out on the 2025/26 European Cup 1. This is the second consecutive season that the Turkish club lost the play-off final for a ticket to the C1 Cup with coach Jose Mourinho.

This result, along with Jose Mourinho's aggressive statements, led the Fenerbahce board to decide to sack him. After the defeat to Benfica, the "Special One" publicly criticized the team. He said: "If the European Cup was really important to Fenerbahce, they would have done something before the match against Benfica."

On the homepage, Fenerbahce briefly announced: "We have parted ways with Jose Mourinho, who has led the team since the 2024/25 season. We thank him for his efforts for the team and wish him success in his future career."

Jose Mourinho was appointed by Fenerbahce in July 2024 with the hope of returning the team to the European Cup 1 and overthrowing Galatasaray in the national championship. However, the Portuguese coach failed in both goals and often made controversial statements. Last season, Fenerbahce were 11 points behind Galatasaray and stopped in the knockout round of the European Cup 2.

Mourinho's biggest mark during this period was his criticism of referees and the Turkish Football Federation, who he said were completely biased towards Galatasaray. In total, Mourinho led Fenerbahce in 62 matches, winning 37, drawing 14 and losing 11.

Thus, Mourinho received a dismissal notice for the 5th consecutive time in his career, after Chelsea, MU, Tottenham and Roma.
