Jose Mourinho has been sacked again.

TPO - Renowned coach Jose Mourinho has been sacked for the fifth consecutive time in his coaching career. This time, he was dismissed by Fenerbahce less than a month into the new season.

Early yesterday morning, Fenerbahce lost 0-1 to Benfica away from home and officially missed out on the 2025/26 Champions League. This is the second consecutive season that the Turkish club, under manager Jose Mourinho, has lost the play-off final for a Champions League spot.

This result, along with Jose Mourinho's aggressive statements, led the Fenerbahce board to decide to sack him. After the defeat against Benfica, "The Special One" publicly criticized the team. He said: "If the Champions League was really important to Fenerbahce, they would have done something before the match against Benfica."

On their homepage, Fenerbahce briefly announced: “We have parted ways with Jose Mourinho, who has been managing the team since the 2024/25 season. We thank him for his efforts for the team and wish him success in his future career.”

Jose Mourinho was appointed by Fenerbahce in July 2024 with the expectation of leading the team back to the Champions League and dethroning Galatasaray in the league. However, the Portuguese coach failed in both goals and frequently made controversial statements. Last season, Fenerbahce finished 11 points behind Galatasaray and were eliminated in the knockout round of the Europa League.

Mourinho's biggest mark during this period was his criticism of the referees and the Turkish Football Federation, whom he accused of being completely biased in favor of Galatasaray. In total, Mourinho managed Fenerbahce for 62 matches, winning 37, drawing 14, and losing 11.

Thus, Mourinho has received his fifth consecutive dismissal notice in his career, after Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Roma.
