Julian Alvarez is on the rise.

In the early hours of April 25th, the Argentinian striker scored in Atletico Madrid's 3-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in the 33rd round of La Liga.

Alvarez is having his best season since turning professional.

In the 77th minute of the match against Rayo Vallecano, Julian Alvarez made a clever run to receive a through ball from Antoine Griezmann, before finishing accurately from just outside the 16.5-meter line, beating the goalkeeper.

The Argentinian striker reached the milestone of 15 goals in his first season in La Liga. Across all competitions, the former Man City star has scored 27 goals and provided 5 assists for Atletico Madrid in 50 appearances.

This is also Alvarez's best season since turning professional. Previously, he scored 26 goals in 56 matches for River Plate in 2021. Including his national team statistics, Alvarez has contributed to 35 goals (30 goals, 5 assists).

"I always try not to pay too much attention to the comments. I just focus on myself and defending the identity of the club and the national team," Alvarez said after the match.

Goals from Alvarez, Alexander Sorloth, and Conor Gallager secured a resounding 3-0 victory for Atletico Madrid at home. However, Alvarez's trophy-winning streak came to an end as he and his teammates were eliminated from both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. In the league, the Wanda Metropolitano side also trailed Barcelona by 10 points with only five rounds remaining.
