With her strength in distilling the spirit of Vietnamese culture and transforming it into contemporary visual language, designer Thuy Nguyen presents a Tet (Lunar New Year) Ao Dai collection.   Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026.

The ao dai is not just for wearing.

Familiar images from everyday life, such as spring flowers and plants, folk paintings, and mythical creatures, are creatively transformed by designer Thuy Nguyen into unique and interesting designs.

She boldly innovates through lines and color palettes while maintaining harmony, creating a feeling that is both familiar and surprising for the wearer.

With a philosophy that avoids excessive nostalgia or extreme innovation, Thuy Nguyen balances the elements of ao dai design, satisfying even the most discerning ao dai enthusiasts.

"Based on the traditional ao dai silhouette, Thuy applies fabric surface treatment techniques to create new materials such as unique printed patterns, draping, or subtle color transitions, as if 'painting' on the woman's body," designer Thuy Nguyen shared.

Therefore, when the wearer moves, the ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) moves with each step and gesture, making the wearer look more feminine but not weak.

Through her Tet Ao Dai collection, designer Thuy Nguyen also wants to convey the message that "Tet doesn't need to be interpreted through repetitive symbols." She can tell the story of Tet through emotions, colors, visual memories, and the language of fashion .

Thuy Nguyen is one of the designers who has chosen her own creative path, persistently incorporating culture into fashion, transforming it into a natural part of life.

The ao dai is not only designed to be worn but also to be staged as a cultural space. Each design is like a painting where flowers, mascots, and colors are arranged with the mindset of a visual artist rather than a fashion designer.

Thuy Nguyen gives people the feeling of strolling into an exhibition. Along with many other ao dai designers, she has been striving to contribute to making the ao dai not just a garment for holidays and festivals, but also one that is widely used in daily life.
