Currently, localities in Quang Tri province are actively implementing the integrated communication campaign to provide population and family planning services to communes with high birth rates, high rates of third or subsequent births, and communes in disadvantaged areas by 2025 (referred to as the population and family planning campaign). Through this, the focus is on achieving the goal of reducing birth rates and improving population quality, contributing to the successful implementation of the Vietnam Population Strategy until 2030.
According to the plan of the Provincial Population Department, the campaign will be organized in two phases. Phase 1 will begin on March 28, 2025 and end before April 30, 2025 (applicable to communes funded by Resolution 45/2020/NQ-HĐND on population and development policy of Quang Tri province for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030). The campaign will last 2 days per commune. Phase 2 of the campaign will depend on the actual situation; localities will proactively develop plans to achieve the assigned campaign targets for the year.

Specifically for communes implementing the campaign using funds from Project 7 under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, the district health centers should proactively develop a plan to implement the campaign in their localities immediately after receiving the decision on the allocation of project operating funds and must ensure that the campaign is completed within the year as per the general regulations of the entire province.
The campaign focuses on providing four family planning and reproductive health service packages, including: a gynecological examination and treatment service package aiming for 100% of women of reproductive age who need to use modern contraceptive methods to receive gynecological examinations and treatment after being diagnosed with common gynecological diseases.
The family planning service package achieved over 85% of the target for implementing long-term contraceptive methods during the year, and 90% for short-term contraceptive methods. The pre-marital health counseling service package achieved over 85% of the target for the province-wide campaign in terms of the number of young men and women receiving pre-marital health check-ups during the year.
The package of counseling and screening services for fetal defects aims to provide counseling on prenatal and newborn screening to at least 25% of pregnant mothers in the province during the year, prioritizing high-risk groups.
Communes within the campaign area must ensure they achieve 100% of the targets for implementing modern contraceptive methods, pre-marital health check-ups, and prenatal and newborn screening assigned for 2025.
