This year's April 30th - May 1st holiday lasts for 5 days, so many people are planning trips , leading to a surge in demand for hotel accommodations. Currently, many hotels in tourist destinations are fully booked, making it difficult for guests to make reservations.

Ms. Pham Thi My, from Mymy Travel agency, said that many customers had contacted her to book hotel rooms for their trips a month before the holiday. In the North, many hotels in Cat Ba ( Hai Phong ), Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, etc., are no longer accepting guests. Room rates have increased by 300,000 - 500,000 VND per night compared to normal days.

Ha Giang is also a popular tourist destination this holiday season. A representative from the Four Points by Sheraton Ha Giang hotel said that tourists started booking rooms for the holiday 2-3 weeks in advance, so the hotel has had to turn down quite a few late bookings. Room rates here range from approximately 1.8 million VND per night.

In Central Vietnam, Four Points by Sheraton Danang announced that the lowest price during the holiday period is approximately VND 3.3 million per room per night, including taxes, service charges, and breakfast for two people - an increase of 10-15%.

"With the surge in customers, we had to increase staffing by arranging for extra employees to work during the holidays, as well as stocking up on essential supplies to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service. Therefore, costs have changed," explained an official here.

According to a representative from the Sheraton Grand Danang hotel, there are currently very few rooms available, and they are expected to be fully booked within the next few days, due to the habit of Vietnamese tourists booking close to their holiday dates. The price remains unchanged compared to regular days, ranging from 5 million VND per night.

Marriott International also boasts high occupancy rates at its hotels and resorts in Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc.

Surveys on numerous travel websites show that many hotels in tourist destinations such as Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Vung Tau, etc., are fully booked or have only 1-2 rooms left. Currently, 2-3 star quality accommodations have more vacant rooms.

On travel websites, many hotels are reporting that they are fully booked, with only 1-2 rooms remaining for the April 30th - May 1st holiday period.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City is experiencing its biggest tourist influx during the April 30th holiday due to the ongoing celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and national reunification. Many hotels in Ho Chi Minh City have increased room rates and are quickly fully booked.

For example, the Nikko Saigon Hotel's regular room rate is 3.3 million VND/night, but on November 30th and May 1st, the price increased to 4.3 million VND; The Reverie Saigon Hotel's regular rate is 6.4 million VND/night, but today it's 10.1 million VND; the Caravelle Hotel's regular rate is 5 million VND/night, but now it's 9 million VND...

These are all 5-star hotels in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, conveniently located for observing the parade as it passes by.

Representatives from Le Méridien Saigon hotel also announced that the hotel is currently fully booked and no more rooms can be reserved.

" Located opposite the Saigon River, our hotel is a popular destination for tourists as guests can directly view the fireworks from the hotel. To prepare for the surge in guests during this holiday season, we have prepared a variety of activities throughout the hotel, from room packages and fireworks viewing packages to entertainment options ," a hotel representative stated.

Recently, regarding the accommodation situation during the April 30th holiday, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, stated that hotels from 1 to 5 stars in District 1, District 4, and the Nha Rong Wharf area – where art performances, parades, fireworks displays, light festivals, and culinary events are concentrated – have reached 95-100% occupancy.

In particular, 4- and 5-star hotels reported full occupancy from April 27th to May 1st, the peak holiday period and the time when artistic activities celebrating the grand event take place.

However, Ms. Hoa noted that only hotels in the city center, where the parade passed through, were fully booked; hotels in neighboring districts still had rooms available for tourists visiting the city during this holiday.

"Ho Chi Minh City has many hotels in other districts. The room capacity is very high, ensuring sufficient accommodation for tourists visiting the city for the April 30th holiday. We are also coordinating with districts to update accommodation options for tourists."

"Therefore, if tourists cannot book hotel rooms in the central area where festival activities are held, they can choose to stay at hotels in District 3, District 5, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh, Thu Duc City... These areas have many hotels with diverse segments, reasonable prices, and very good service quality," Ms. Hoa said.
