During the upcoming 4-day holiday, destinations with cool climates and beautiful scenery near Ho Chi Minh City, such as the former Da Lat city ( Lam Dong province) and Mang Den commune (Quang Ngai province), continue to be favored by domestic tourists. Both localities recorded the highest number of visitors during this period, with the peak being on January 1-3, 2026.
Da Lat is bustling again.
The accommodation market in Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat, where the highest concentration of lodging establishments is located, is becoming bustling during this period, after the mountain passes leading into the old Da Lat city were restored.
According to the ward's People's Committee, the occupancy rate is approximately 70-75%. This number is expected to increase as tourists tend to book rooms closer to their departure date.
According to Hoang An, owner of ATP Hotel, occupancy is currently at 65-70%. There are few rooms left for the peak day, January 1st, 2026. The slower rate of occupancy compared to previous years is understandable, as the recent natural disaster has somewhat increased tourist concerns. Furthermore, the 4-day holiday dates are close to being finalized, leaving many people with little time to adjust their plans. Prices for this period range from 650,000 VND to 1,200,000 VND per night.

Similarly, Lien's Hotel achieved 90% occupancy on January 1st, 2026, and 100% on January 2nd-3rd, 2026, with remaining days vacant. Prices during this period increased by 5-10% compared to normal days. The majority of guests were independent travelers or families.
At Torino Hotel Dalat, Carnival Hotel, Lung Doi Homestay, The Green House, etc., only 1-2 rooms are still available for the holiday period. Hotel streets like Bui Thi Xuan and Nguyen Chi Thanh still have a relatively good number of rooms available, as of now.
Regarding airfares, surveys on online ticketing platforms during the peak period from December 27th to January 4th, 2026, show that flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat have increased in price, with the cheapest being 3.3 million VND/round-trip economy class ticket.
The Hanoi - Da Lat route isn't fully booked yet, but daytime flights are filling up quickly. Vietjet Air, in particular, has no business class seats left.
On the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat route, sleeper bus tickets range from 300,000 to 450,000 VND per way, while limousine buses cost up to 600,000 VND. On January 1-2, 2026, seats filled up quickly, while many seats remained empty on the remaining days.
Rooms in Mang Den continue to be fully booked.
Speaking with Tri Thuc - Znews , Ms. Vu Thi Hong Phuong, Director of the Center for Culture, Sports, Tourism and Communication of Mang Den commune, informed that the number of visitors to Mang Den commune (Quang Ngai) is expected to increase slightly during the 2026 New Year holiday.
Currently, hotel occupancy has reached 90%, with only a few small accommodations having a few vacant rooms, approximately the same as the same period in 2025. Although previously, accommodation establishments were concerned about a decrease in visitors due to the closure of Pa Sy Waterfall, the occupancy rate is increasing rapidly and is likely to reach 100% before January 1st, 2026. Finding accommodation in the area at this time would be very difficult.

To welcome the new year, the commune is organizing a cultural and tourism week titled "Mang Den - Pink Amidst the Great Forest" from January 1-4. According to Ms. Hong Phuong, scheduling a 4-day holiday that coincides with the event is a great advantage for the commune.
Activities include a hot air balloon festival, a green seedling pickleball competition, art and fireworks displays, eco-tourism tours, agricultural and medicinal herb markets, and an OCOP food fair...
Regarding bookings, Ngoc Linh, representative of Han San Homestay, said that all rooms were fully booked from December 27th to January 6th, with prices starting from 600,000-700,000 VND per night. Only two rooms were available for December 27th and 28th. Most guests were independent travelers from Central and Southern Vietnam, who booked their rooms in mid-December.

Booking data for Hoa Anh Dao Hotel also recorded absolute occupancy during the 4-day holiday. The highest concentration of guests was on January 1st and 2nd.
"After announcing the extended holiday, rooms for January 3-4 were quickly sold out, with some guests extending their stays. The homestay estimates that the number of guests during this period will increase by about 5-10% compared to the same period in 2025," a representative of the hotel said.
Some accommodations such as SuSaDu Homestay, Gemstone Villa Mang Den, Hera Mang Den Homestay, Plinh Homestay... are 85-90% booked. In the high-end segment, Golden Boutique Hotel Mang Den, De Vivre Homestay Mang Den… also recorded occupancy rates above 80%.
Currently, the commune has 170 accommodation establishments with over 1,500 rooms, accommodating approximately 7,500 guests per day. Prices during the New Year holiday range from 150,000 to 700,000 VND per night. Hotels typically cost between 700,000 and 1.4 million VND.
