The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a plan titled "Implementation of urban order maintenance and promotion of civilized lifestyle in Da Nang City".

One of the city's goals is to ensure that 100% of communes and wards maintain sidewalk order, environmental hygiene, and urban aesthetics, thereby creating a significant transformation in the urban landscape, changing old perceptions and habits, and improving the quality of life for residents in the area.

At the same time, it contributes to building a civilized and spacious urban environment, enhancing the visitor experience, thereby promoting the development of tourism services and promoting the image of Da Nang city.

The city requires sidewalks to be marked with lines delineating areas for pedestrians and areas for temporary motorcycle parking. The road signage system will be reorganized to be more integrated, ensuring clarity, easy visibility, and minimal interference with pedestrians on sidewalks.

Specifically, it is not permitted to use sidewalks for commercial purposes; it is not permitted to place, install, or set up mobile business signs, mobile advertising boards, potted plants, decorative statues, or other items on sidewalks or roads (except for advertising posts arranged according to the approved advertising plan). Sidewalks must always be kept clear and free of obstructions (except for parking motorcycles on sidewalks within the designated temporary parking areas mentioned above).

There are no illegal "makeshift markets" or "temporary markets" on the roads and sidewalks of the city. Vehicles on sidewalks are neatly arranged according to regulations, ensuring urban order and aesthetics. It is prohibited to hang, place, paste, or paint advertisements or signs on utility poles, traffic signal poles, trees, and other infrastructure.

In addition, vehicles stopping, parking, picking up, and dropping off passengers must be arranged, positioned, and parked in appropriate areas and locations in accordance with regulations to ensure they do not obstruct or cause traffic congestion.

The city also emphasized ensuring environmental hygiene in public areas, vacant lots, sidewalks, along roads, residential areas, and alleys; collecting large-sized waste; and cleaning market areas, commercial areas, flower markets, and places where entertainment, cultural, and artistic activities are held.

The implementation roadmap will be completed in the first quarter of this year, in three phases. Phase 1 focuses on raising awareness and mobilizing the public. Phase 2 will involve comprehensive inspections and handling of violations, to be completed before April 30th. Phase 3 will focus on prevention and combating recidivism.
