Crowds of people flocked to shopping malls and supermarkets in Hanoi to shop for Tet (Lunar New Year).
With only one day left until the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, the number of shoppers flocking to major supermarkets in Hanoi is increasing.
According to VTC News reporters, a "sea of people" surrounded the BigC Thăng Long supermarket on the afternoon of February 8th (the 29th day of the Lunar New Year).
The stalls were much busier than usual.
Most products are discounted to attract customers before closing for the Lunar New Year holiday. This is also considered the biggest and easiest time of the year to clear out inventory.
The confectionery stalls are constantly bustling with customers because these are indispensable products during the Lunar New Year celebrations in every family.
The trucks are loaded with sweets and food items for the Lunar New Year celebration.
Customers lined up in long queues waiting to pay, while checkout staff worked at full capacity, without a moment's rest. Most had to work overtime during the Lunar New Year sales season.
At Aeon Mall Ha Dong shopping center, the number of people flocking there was also very large.
The stalls selling Tet sweets and snacks are brightly decorated, and many people are taking advantage of the remaining days before Tet to buy the last items they need.
Tet sweets and cakes are decorated in eye-catching dragon shapes, symbolizing the Year of the Dragon.
There are always customers waiting at the checkout counter.
"Taking advantage of the last few days of the Year of the Rabbit, my family and I went shopping for some extra sweets, food, and household items. These items are usually heavily discounted closer to Tet, so I'll save some money for Tet shopping," a customer explained the reason for shopping so close to Tet.
The sign at Aeon Mall Ha Dong announcing its opening throughout the Tet holiday allows people to choose their preferred time and day for shopping, reducing overcrowding.
