Vietnamese solo travelers prefer Bangkok, Seoul, and Tokyo, with Bangkok being the top choice due to its convenience and reasonable cost.
Agoda, an online travel platform, conducted a survey on the most popular destinations for Vietnamese solo travelers during Singles' Day (November 11th) (an unofficial but increasingly popular global holiday). The survey was based on booking searches for Fridays and Saturdays by solo travelers, from mid-April to mid-October.
The results show that Bangkok, Seoul (South Korea), and Tokyo (Japan) are the top three destinations for this group of travelers. These three cities also lead the search lists of solo travelers in the Asia- Pacific region. However, the ranking for the Asia-Pacific group has changed, with Tokyo leading, followed by Bangkok and Seoul.

Representatives from this platform commented that it's not surprising that Bangkok is the top destination for Vietnamese solo travelers. Bangkok has long been known as an easily accessible tourist destination, ideal for backpacking trips, with many low-cost hotels. The city's people are friendly and approachable, making it easy for solo travelers to make new friends.
Regarding Seoul, Agoda describes the city as a beautiful blend of classic and modern. Solo travelers can spend time exploring the ancient palaces, drinking soju to make new friends, or visiting trendy neighborhoods like Gangnam. Besides safety, Seoul is also renowned for its convenient public transportation system, making it easy to get around and explore the city.
Tokyo – ranked third on the list – was highly rated by this online booking platform for its world-class cuisine and numerous capsule hotels suitable for solo travelers.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Director of Agoda in Vietnam, said that the trend of solo travel is seeing higher growth than last year as it is seen as "a gift to oneself". Solo trips promise to bring unique experiences and greater maturity to each traveler.
