According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, for revolutionary journalism to fulfill its responsibilities to the Fatherland and the people, each media agency and each journalist must always consciously study and improve their professional knowledge; maintain and develop political integrity, and be determined to innovate even more strongly; and strengthen the application of technology, especially digital transformation and artificial intelligence, to change the process of producing, distributing, and accessing journalistic information. Innovation must be the driving force, and technology the tool to elevate Vietnamese journalism.
Furthermore, bold innovation from within is necessary – innovation in journalistic leadership thinking, innovation in newsroom models, innovation in content production and distribution methods, and innovation in the relationship between the press and the public. The press needs to deepen its role in social critique, protect the Party's ideological foundation, promote unity, create consensus, strongly awaken patriotism and national pride, inspire a desire to contribute, and help the country confidently enter a new era – an era of prosperity, civilization, and national progress.

Delegates attending the opening ceremony.
Vietnamese revolutionary journalism has experienced a glorious century. But that glory is only truly valuable when it is continued with the aspiration to reach further. Today's opening ceremony is to remember, to express gratitude, and also to look towards the future. I hope that every journalist and every media organization will work together to create what lies ahead: innovation in thinking, renewal in expression, and a deeper social role. The public attending today's National Press Conference also affirms their faith and entrusts their expectations to the steadfast team of writers and the revolutionary journalistic products that will truly shine and "lead the way" in the nation's era of progress.
General Secretary To Lam clearly stated: “The new era also places new and higher demands on revolutionary journalism, requiring it to develop accordingly, to grow alongside the nation, and to be worthy of a professional, humane, and modern press.” This admonition serves as a strategic direction and a mandate for action for us today – so that from this Press Conference, Vietnamese revolutionary journalism can confidently move into a new phase with a firm stance, a desire for innovation, and a noble mission: to serve the Fatherland and the people. Each journalist will further love their profession, become more steadfast and full of aspirations to continue on this new path with a higher spirit of dedication and responsibility, worthy of being the pioneering force on the ideological and cultural front in the new era,” Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia shared.

The theme of the 2025 National Press Conference, "Vietnamese Journalism: Loyal, Creative, Resolute, and Innovative for the Cause of National Construction and Defense," also serves as a guiding principle for journalists to continue their noble mission as the country is stepping into a new era.
"Loyalty" is the manifestation of unwavering commitment to the revolutionary ideals and principles of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and loyalty to the supreme interests of the nation, the people, and the country. Journalists must always be exemplary in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and resolutely fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
In today's digital age, creativity is key to the survival and development of journalism. Creativity is not only about innovation in content and presentation, but also about the ability to apply new technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data to create high-quality, engaging, diverse journalistic products that suit the tastes and information access methods of the modern public.
Strong political resolve is an indispensable quality for revolutionary journalists. We need the courage to reflect the truth, to delve into pressing and sensitive issues to fight against negativity, corruption, and waste. At the same time, we must have the fortitude to overcome pressure and material temptations, upholding ethics and social responsibility.
Innovation is a continuous and inevitable process. Journalism needs to innovate its thinking and methods, shifting from a traditional newsroom model to a convergent, multi-platform newsroom. Innovation is essential for enhancing competitiveness. Innovation also involves constantly learning and improving professional skills and expertise to meet the increasingly high demands of readers and the general trends of global development.
