Artist Nguyen Van Nguyen, originally from Vinh Phuc province, completed his studies at the Vietnam College of Fine Arts in 1971. He was then assigned to cultural work in the Vinh Linh frontline, serving the resistance war against the US and becoming an artist and cultural soldier in this "land of fire" until the country achieved peace in 1975.
After preserving his collection of sketches depicting the resistance war in Vinh Linh (Quang Tri) and Quang Binh for over 50 years, in 2024, artist Nguyen Van Nguyen donated nearly 150 of his sketches to the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City.
This collection of sketches not only possesses artistic value but also serves as precious documentation of the fierce bombing period in the nation's history (1971-1975) and the working and productive life of the people after the country's liberation, from the authentic and emotionally rich perspectives of the artist and soldier.

This exhibition features 110 realistic and vivid sketches depicting the resistance war against the US and the life of labor and production after the reunification of the country. Each brushstroke is a visual diary, recording the indomitable spirit, the strength of national unity, and the aspiration for peace and reunification of the army and people of Binh Tri Thien.
The organizers hope that the "Realm of Memories" exhibition will serve as a bridge connecting the past and the present, a cherished part of memory, a source of pride, and a meaningful educational tool to instill patriotism and national pride in present and future generations.
The exhibition is open until July 20, 2026.
