In his opening remarks at the VCG Forum 2025, VACD Chairman Nguyen Duc Thuan stated that the event is being held at a pivotal moment for the economy . Vietnam is entering an era of strong growth with the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2045. To realize this aspiration, Vietnam needs new growth drivers, new markets, and one of them is digital assets, or crypto assets.
According to the Chairman of VADC, digital assets are no longer just a matter of speculative bubbles, but are becoming a core part of the global digital economy. In Vietnam, digital assets are making spectacular progress with positive signals from the legal framework and policies. The opportunities that digital assets open up are enormous, but how are businesses actually responding?
Citing surveys by VACD and TheLEADER online magazine, Mr. Thuan pointed out an interesting market picture. Accordingly, businesses' thinking about digital assets has matured significantly. No longer vague, the business community has clearly defined the destination of this technology.
According to the survey, more than half of businesses believe that finance and accounting will be the most effectively applied field, closely followed by "Asset Management and Ownership". This shows that Vietnamese businesses do not view digital assets as a speculative product, but rather as a tool to transparently channel cash flow and digitize ownership of real assets.
When asked about implementation plans, besides the pioneering group, a significant portion are still waiting for the legal framework to be completed. Along with that are concerns about human resources and cybersecurity. This sends a strong message: Businesses are not afraid of technology, not afraid of competition; they need a transparent playing field. We expect that, after this Forum, digital assets will truly be "unlocked" to become capital flowing into production and business, creating real value for society," said the VACD Chairman.

Speaking at the forum, Nguyen Phu Dung, co-founder of PILA Group and member of the Solaris Impact fund investment board under Pacific Bridge Capital, believes that the path to sustainable development and prosperity for Vietnam is through the Internet.
However, there is a paradox in the current financial landscape: Vietnam's capital turnover rate is only one-third that of Singapore. That is, for the same amount of capital, Singapore turns it over three times while Vietnam only turns it over once. The main reason lies in the fact that capital is largely tied up in collateral assets, primarily real estate. Furthermore, the lack of policies, mechanisms, and legal barriers makes accessing capital for innovative projects difficult. These challenges will be overcome through a comprehensive model of a digital nation with three main layers, from bottom up: data, finance, and economy.

In this model, raw data flows from bottom to top through analysis and cleaning processes to create value, while funds from the financial layer are invested in the economic layer and repaid with both principal and interest. With this model, the "bottleneck" of capital flow—the lack of trust—is resolved through trust in the digital age. Digital trust, according to Mr. Dung, is not based on interpersonal relationships but on the smallest pieces of evidence derived from data. The benefit is that access to capital can become easier; credit institutions can readily lend based on reliable, accurate, and transparent data assessments of customers. Consequently, collateral is no longer necessary, and capital flows more freely, avoiding excessive reliance on physical assets. Furthermore, according to Mr. Dung, digital trust must be built on transparent, independently verifiable, and reliable data. Through the application of blockchain technology, identification will ensure the integrity, automation, and transparency of data. This is the starting point of digital assets.
As can be seen, opportunities in Vietnam are immense, including real estate, wind power, logistics, intangible assets such as tourism exploitation rights, or digital content intellectual property. All of these characteristics can be fully transformed into digital assets to attract investment capital – Mr. Dung emphasized.
