The Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) scenic area is located in the southeast of Da Nang city. The area comprises six mountains: Thủy Sơn, Kim Sơn, Hỏa Sơn, Thổ Sơn, and Mộc Sơn. Of these, Thủy Sơn, located in the northeast, boasts the most beautiful scenery.

On the summit of Thuy Son mountain lies Huyen Khong cave, with a flat floor and a rounded arch. Right at the entrance to the cave, three characters are carved: "Huyen Khong Quan".

Inside the cave, light reflects off the marble, creating a magical beauty. According to historical records, in the late 19th century, based on the stone material, the French named this scenic spot "the marble mountains".
At the highest point in the cave is a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Below it is an altar dedicated to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. To the left of the cave is a temple dedicated to Lady Ngoc Phi (the Fairy Queen).

This site houses a treasure trove of rock carvings in both Chinese and Vietnamese scripts, containing diverse content. The rock carvings at Ngu Hanh Son have been recognized by UNESCO as a Documentary Heritage under the Memory of the World Programme for the Asia-Pacific region.

Visiting Huyen Khong Cave for the first time, tourist Pham Thi Thuy Duyen (22 years old) shared that she found the cave magnificent and the atmosphere peaceful and quiet upon entering.

Besides Huyen Khong Cave, along the route there is Van Thong Cave. The cave is circular, like a pipe slanting up towards the mountain. Deep inside the cave is a stone tablet carved directly into the rock with the inscription "Ngu Uan Son".

The Underworld Cave is located south of Thuy Son Mountain. According to historical records, the cave's name dates back to the reign of Emperor Minh Mang. In the early 19th century, during a royal visit to this mountain, the emperor witnessed its gloomy and eerie atmosphere and therefore named it the Underworld Cave.

On Thuy Son mountain are Linh Ung Pagoda and Tam Thai Pagoda. The photo shows the Tam Thai Pagoda area, which was built in 1630.

In front of Tam Thai Pagoda stand two ancient banyan trees, like two guardian deities, adding to the pagoda's solemnity. Their trunks are gnarled with the marks of time, and their branches and leaves are unusually spread, creating a beautiful shape and providing ample shade.
These are two of the seven heritage trees in the Marble Mountains scenic area that were recognized by the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council in 2017.

Ngu Hanh Son is also famous for the Non Nuoc stone carving village. Pictured is the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Memory Museum, which houses hundreds of artifacts and handcrafted tools from the stone carving village.

Visitors to Marble Mountains on the 19th day of the 2nd lunar month each year will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Quan The Am Festival. This is one of the folk festivals deeply rooted in Buddhist religious beliefs and associated with this unique scenic spot.
