Creativity inspired by the spirit of Non Nuoc stone.
Mr. Luu Van Tam Anh, Deputy Director of the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village Management Center, Ngu Hanh Son Ward Public Service Center, said that this year's competition has a wider reach compared to the 2023 event, receiving positive responses not only from artisans of the village but also from many sculptors and artisans in the city.
This year's competition features 26 artisans, sculptors, and stone craftsmen from stone carving production and business establishments in the city.
According to regulations, creations must be based on authentic sources, featuring traditional artistic imagery that conforms to Vietnamese customs and traditions. The artworks must be crafted from solid blocks of stone; the use of stones with high artistic value and suitable for exhibition is encouraged.
The final stages of completing the artworks will take place in June and July 2026. The most representative works are expected to be displayed in public spaces, open to the public and tourists for viewing and appreciation.
Huynh Trung Workshop is participating with two works crafted by skilled artisans. Titled "The Soul of the Sea and Non Nuoc" and "The Rhythm of the Sea," the works convey the simple dreams of coastal laborers while honoring the rustic, enduring beauty that is the "soul of the sea" and the unique hallmark of the Non Nuoc region of Da Nang . The works are currently being sketched in clay before being sculpted in stone for the competition.
Mr. Huynh Trung, owner of the Huynh Trung stone carving workshop, hopes that through this competition, he can contribute to spreading the value of Non Nuoc stone carving. This is also an opportunity for artisans to interact, learn, and access new creative ideas. At the same time, it aims to inspire the younger generation to boldly pursue the craft, working together to preserve and promote the traditional craft village.
Spreading the values of the stone carving village.
Mr. Tam Anh added that the organizing committee will select high-quality products to honor and promote the art of Non Nuoc stone carving, contributing to preserving, inheriting, and developing the local cultural identity. Through this, they will gradually guide the development of Non Nuoc stone carving and crafting activities to meet the healthy needs and tastes of local people and domestic and international tourists.

Through this competition, artisans and production facilities hope that handicraft products will not only focus on economic value but also emphasize aesthetic value, craftsmanship, and the aspiration to perfect beauty in each product, contributing to the sustainable development of the craft village, reaching further into the future, inspiring creativity, and nurturing a love for the craft in the younger generation.
Mr. Ta Tu Binh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son Ward, assessed that the competition created a creative space for artisans to showcase their skills, helping to preserve and spread the value of the local traditional stone carving craft. The works created from the competition not only enrich the appearance of the craft village but also contribute to enhancing aesthetic value, gradually affirming the Non Nuoc stone art brand.
According to Mr. Binh, this activity also opens up opportunities to promote the image of Ngu Hanh Son associated with traditional craft villages, creating a highlight to attract tourists to visit and experience... thereby promoting tourism development and creating momentum for the Non Nuoc stone carving craft village to continue to be preserved and developed sustainably in the future.
