
Get a thorough cleaning early.
From mid-May 2026, the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son Ward, in coordination with Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, organized a comprehensive cleanup and garbage collection at long-standing accumulation points as well as areas frequently subject to illegal dumping and improper waste collection.
Just one week before the opening ceremony of DIFF 2026, the local authorities organized a cleanup campaign at nine locations, focusing on the coastal area, the An Thuong tourist district, and surrounding roads. Residents and employees of local businesses collaborated with officers and soldiers from Regiment 224 of Division 375, Battalion 78 of the Chemical Defense Corps, and workers from Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company to clean up and collect garbage along Do Ba, Mai Thuc Lan, Phan Tu, Le Quang Dao, and Hoang Ke Viem streets.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tu, Head of Neighborhood Group 73, Ngu Hanh Son Ward, expressed: “Our neighborhood has many foreigners living there and will have many tourists staying during the international fireworks festival. When Regiment 224 deployed officers and soldiers to participate in cleaning the streets and mowing the grass in the park, the people were very happy. In addition, Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company arranged a truck and workers to collect a lot of garbage, ensuring the landscape and environment.”
According to Nguyen Duc Viet, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son Ward, the ward has mobilized forces and resources to coordinate with residents in residential areas to conduct a comprehensive environmental cleanup along roads, residential areas, beaches, and vacant lots; and to address accumulated waste points to prevent environmental pollution.
At the same time, strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to raise public awareness of complying with environmental protection regulations; avoid littering, maintain hygiene, and regularly carry out the "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday" campaign.

Mobilize maximum manpower and resources.
In key wards of DIFF 2026 such as Hai Chau, Son Tra and An Hai, the work of general cleaning, garbage collection, and ensuring the landscape and environment has been directed and implemented decisively by the local authorities.
Hai Chau Ward mobilized over 150 people along with motorized vehicles to conduct a comprehensive cleanup along Nhu Nguyet Street, at the foot of Thuan Phuoc Bridge, and along the banks of the Han River, ensuring environmental and landscape cleanliness along the entire route before May 29th. The local authorities requested the Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company to intensify environmental sanitation efforts on 15 streets, areas, and along the western bank of the Han River…
The People's Committee of Son Tra Ward has assigned forces to disseminate information, guide, and remind owners of restaurants, eateries, businesses, and street vendors on the sidewalks of Vo Nguyen Giap, Tran Hung Dao, Hoang Sa, Ngo Quyen, Van Don, Le Van Duyet, Le Duc Tho, Nguyen Huy Chuong, Chu Huy Man streets, and the Thuan Phuoc bridge area... to thoroughly clean their business premises and collect, store, and dispose of waste in the designated locations and at the specified times.
The ward also directed and requested relevant units to proactively coordinate and promptly handle the anticipated surge in waste generation during the peak period of serving DIFF 2026 (from May 30th to July 11th); to prevent the accumulation of waste that would detract from the aesthetics, pollute the environment, and negatively impact urban aesthetics...
According to Thanh Ha Duong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, the locality is stepping up propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people and businesses to maintain hygiene around their living, production, and business areas; and to participate in environmental cleanup on weekends throughout the duration of DIFF 2026.
In addition, businesses are encouraged to implement the "Comfort as home" model to provide free use of restrooms for residents and tourists; and volunteers, residents, and tourists are mobilized to collect garbage after each night of the international fireworks display...
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy General Director of Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, since May 15th, the company has implemented environmental sanitation activities and measures to serve DIFF 2026, aiming to ensure the completion of a comprehensive cleanup of 33 key roads, bridges, and both banks of the Han River before May 29th.

The unit regularly deploys workers to maintain cleanliness on pedestrian walkways around Han Market, the sidewalks of Bach Dang Street, and the 33 aforementioned roads and bridges. The company also installed and operates 72 mobile toilets and 285 trash cans of various types in the fireworks display area (Han River Port), the viewing stands (Tran Hung Dao Street), and other public areas with large crowds watching the fireworks, to serve residents and tourists.
Ms. Hieu stated that during the DIFF 2026 event, the company mobilized all its staff, workers, and mechanical equipment to ensure the quality and progress of environmental sanitation work, ready to serve the event.
The company, in coordination with various forces and volunteers, focused on sweeping and collecting trash at crowded fireworks viewing spots immediately after the fireworks display ended, completing the task before midnight. Early the next morning, workers swept again and removed trash from the surface of the Han River, maintaining cleanliness on both banks to ensure the landscape and environment.
