Design improvements

The Galaxy Z Flip5 features a waterdrop notch hinge mechanism that performs exceptionally well, being light enough to open with one hand but sturdy enough to hold the phone open even at wide angles. This also helps to better conceal the crease in the inner screen.

The crease on the folding part of the screen has been significantly reduced.

When unfolded, the phone isn't any thinner than its predecessor, but removing the gap reduces the thickness by 2mm when closed, making it easier to slip into a pocket. The polished aluminum frame contrasts nicely with the color options and feels premium.

The power/fingerprint sensor and volume buttons remain on the right side of the phone, while the USB-C port on the bottom edge is still surrounded by the speaker grille. The camera lenses still protrude slightly from the main body and are positioned horizontally instead of vertically as before.

Camera

The Galaxy Z Flip5 retains the same dual-camera setup as its predecessor, including a 12MP wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture and a 12MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field of view, allowing users to capture more of the scene in each shot. The lenses have been upgraded to reduce glare, and the image processing algorithm has also been updated to improve noise reduction when shooting photos or videos in low light.
