NDO - Kaohsiung City is located in the southern harbor of Taiwan (China). This is the second largest city in Taiwan with many attractions, discoveries, and experiences that attract Vietnamese and international tourists.
Recently, after the success of the Kaohsiung City Tourism Promotion Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of October 2024, attracting more than 60 participating businesses, the Kaohsiung City Tourism Department continued to coordinate with Vietnam Airlines and Transport Marketing and Tourism Joint Stock Company (Vietravel) to promote surveys and exploit new tours for both Vietnamese and Taiwanese (China) tourists.
Recently, Vietnam has established a direct flight route to Kaohsiung city. Accordingly, many airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Tigerair Taiwan... have operated direct flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to Kaohsiung and vice versa with a cost of 4 million VND and about 2.5-4 hours of flight, tourists can set foot in this city and explore attractive destinations.

The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau is also promoting research and implementing many different tour itineraries to increase options for Vietnamese tourists, such as cultural-historical tours to explore the 200-year-old ancient city of Fengshan, Huanfeng Fortress, and Zuoying Old Town.
Along with that, there are also landscape eco-tours with hot spring experiences in Bao Lai, exploring the wild beauty of the mountains of Cuong Son, Yen Sao, A Lien, Dien Lieu... or culinary tours, experiencing Hakka culture, tea parties in My Nong, resting at the high-class hotel system City Suites, Nguyen Dan route going deep into the mountains and forests...
Notably, recently, from December 6 to 10, Vietravel and Vietnam Airlines organized two survey groups including experts, reporters, and journalists from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the survey and experience the new tour with many impressive tourist attractions in Kaohsiung city.

During the trip, delegates and partners had the opportunity to visit a series of outstanding destinations - places with cultural, historical and unique landscape values.
A typical example is Fo Guang Shan Temple - the largest Buddhist complex in Taiwan (China), where visitors can not only admire the massive architecture but also have the opportunity to learn about the history of Buddhism in East Asia through many valuable antiques being preserved here.
Some other destinations are Cijin Rainbow Church, Liuhe Night Market, which offers a culinary cultural experience with famous street foods such as pearl milk tea, pineapple cakes, and cruise activities combined with agricultural tourism, fishing, "a day as a fisherman", "a day as a farmer", ... connecting historical - cultural - religious sites, performing arts.
Visitors can also choose other experiences such as port tours, participating in interesting activities to learn about culture and interact with local people.
These activities include visiting Qishan Ancient Town, Weiwu Village, Cijin Lighthouse, Cijin Fortress, enjoying tea ceremony, participating in traditional cake making class, hot mineral bath, visiting and experiencing the grain production process, ... exploring Pier-2 Art Zone, Little Bear Milk Tea Road, ...
Speaking at a meeting with the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau, Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Director of Marketing Department, Viettravel Tourism Company, said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese tourism businesses, including Vietravel, have actively connected and promoted tourism with many partners, opening tours to Taipei, Taichung and now Kaohsiung, Taiwan. “Vietravel is always committed to accompanying international partners in developing sustainable tourism. Kaohsiung City is not only a destination, but also a place where visitors can find a unique blend of culture, cuisine and people, between tradition and modernity. Through this trip, we hope to bring visitors the opportunity to enjoy complete and emotional journeys. Also at the event, Ms. Doan Thi Ngoc Anh, Specialist of the Passenger Commerce Department - Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) said: This is a very meaningful event in connecting the parties including: Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau, Luc Quy Travel Association, travel companies and Vietnamese aviation service units. In recent times, Vietnam Airlines has made efforts to restore and open new flights. Of which, Vietnam - Taiwan has two routes to Kaohsiung and Taipei every day, operating very effectively.

On the partner side, Ms. Cao Man Lam, Director of the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau, shared that these events not only have cultural significance but also play an important role in promoting economic development of all participating parties. Recent meetings have created opportunities for both sides to share experiences and ideas, aiming to develop diverse tourism products to meet the increasing needs of tourists. “We highly value the cooperation and development with Vietnam, including you. Hopefully, in the future, Kaohsiung will be able to welcome more tourists to explore and experience,” Ms. Cao Man Lam emphasized.
The new point that all members of the delegation clearly felt, and also the factor that creates efficiency in the tours, is the spirit of cooperation and connection. This was also shared by the leaders of Taiwan Port Authority Corporation, Kaohsiung City Port Authority, and Chairman of Welcome Holiday Company Khang Duy Dan.
Accordingly, the close connection between the parties, the authorities and the enterprises, has created many rich tourism products. Kaohsiung promises to attract more and more tourists. And also from this port city, Taiwanese tourists, coming to Taiwan and then spreading to other places, including certainly Vietnam.

One of the highlights of this Famtrip coincided with the Kaohsiung Fried Chicken Festival in Taiwan (China), held from December 7-8 at the square in front of the Far East Shopping Center.
Coming to the festival, visitors have the opportunity to visit more than 50 booths, enjoy fried chicken, soft drinks, frozen desserts from famous businesses.
According to the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau, the event is held every two years, attracting an average of about 35,000 visitors over the two weekends.
