The movie 'Cheer Up, Brothers' starring Meritorious Artist Thai Son is a real healing for a slightly older audience like me. The more you watch, the more "banh cuon" becomes even though there is no element of "attracting customers" at all.
Cheer up, guys, it's just episode 8, but the movie's content is actually getting better and better, interesting, and "rustic". First of all, there are the young faces playing the main characters of the film such as Meritorious Artists Thai Son, Anh Duc and To Dung.
The role of "chicken" Thang makes me feel like he is truly "tailor-made" for Thai Son. Watching it is both sad and funny. I feel sorry for this character's naivety, straightforwardness, honesty and sometimes foolishness, but his acting is extremely charming and amusing, from facial expressions, body shape to slow voice... I think if it weren't for the Meritorious Artist In Thai Son, no one will be able to portray such a lovely "chicken" Thang.
This character, through Thai Son's acting, becomes "unique" even though on screen there is no shortage of people who are a bit stupid, have slow brains... there is no shortage of them. Meritorious Artist Thai Son gives me the feeling that he is a real Thang, not just acting or filming. There are scenes where Meritorious Artist Thai Son acts a bit sulky with his mother and father or with two close friends who are very charming because of the physical "effect". It conveys the gentle, sincere disposition of the character without being effeminate or slick...
After the movie Heart Rescue Station or several other previous movies filled with "drama" that made the audience caught up in negative and inhibited emotions, Cheer up, brothers, like a cool stream. There are also feelings of sympathy, suspense, very real life, but most of all, watching each scene, each character still smiles, still cheers, still hopes. The two other main actors, To Dung and Anh Duc, also acted very realistically, juggling like real people... making the three main characters perfect with each emotion pushed according to the psychology and content of the film.
In the secondary line, there are Anh Dao's Thu, Huyen Thach's Nhung and the characters of Thu and Tien's parents: Thang's parents are all played by veteran artists, making the film without any criticism up to now. If you look back, Let's Cheer Up, Brothers, the cast does not have "star" names but still attracts the audience. So I think that after the movie Cheer up, guys, VFC should continue to produce more dramas with such content, less movies with hot scenes, adultery... because it's too boring.
