Establishing the OCOP brand

Over the years, OCOP products in Quang Ninh province have established their brand, gaining acceptance from consumers both within and outside the province. OCOP products are distributed throughout the province, gradually becoming essential consumer goods for every family. The development and consumption of OCOP products have transformed many regions and the lives of farmers.

This achievement is partly due to the close attention and guidance of the province, as well as departments, agencies, and localities in the development and consumption of OCOP products, thereby creating the distinctive characteristics of different regions. In particular, the planning of production areas; control and protection of product brands; utilization of capital support for production and creation of product linkages; improvement of the quality of OCOP monitoring teams; market access; and implementation of OCOP product production processes ensuring quality and food safety have always been given special attention and focus by relevant units.

As of the end of June 2024, Quang Ninh province had 393 OCOP products rated from 3 to 5 stars. Of these, 296 products achieved 3 stars; 93 products achieved 4 stars; and 4 products achieved 5 stars. The province has 218 producers with products rated from 3 to 5 stars. Adapting to the Industry 4.0 era and undergoing strong digital transformation, 100% of OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher have now been listed on e-commerce platforms such as Voso, Postmart, Shopee, and Lazada, helping to expand their market reach to other provinces.

Along with promoting the consumption of OCOP products through e-commerce channels and social media platforms, Quang Ninh also directs relevant departments, agencies, and localities to actively strengthen trade promotion and seek and expand markets for OCOP products. One of the most effective channels is the regular organization of OCOP fairs, attracting a large number of local residents and domestic and international tourists to Quang Ninh for shopping and sightseeing.

In 2024, Quang Ninh successfully organized the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Spring 2024 and the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Summer 2024. Each fair attracted tens of thousands of people and tourists to shop, generating tens of billions of VND in sales revenue for OCOP products. Furthermore, OCOP products participated in 12 district-level fairs and product weeks throughout the province, receiving positive feedback and high praise from a large number of people and tourists.

To further spread, connect, introduce, promote, and sell OCOP products, the Northeast Region OCOP Fair - Quang Ninh 2024 and the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Autumn/Winter 2024 will be held in Ha Long City and Mong Cai City.

According to the plan, the Northeast Region OCOP Fair – Quang Ninh 2024 will take place from August 29th to September 3rd at the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center (Ha Long City). The fair will feature 257 booths divided into 4 exhibition and promotion areas inside and outside the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center. Of these, 100 booths will showcase agricultural products and OCOP products from the province, introducing local culture; over 150 booths will introduce typical and representative agricultural and OCOP products from provinces, cities, domestic and foreign economic organizations, and businesses from international localities with cooperative relations with Quang Ninh such as: Hua Phan, Luang Prabang, Xay Nha Bu Ly (Laos), Guangxi, Yunnan (China), Pakistan…

The Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Autumn-Winter 2024 will take place from November 14th to 18th at the Mong Cai City Communication and Culture Center, featuring 200 booths showcasing agricultural products and OCOP products from districts, towns, and cities within the province; displaying and introducing typical and representative products from provinces and cities nationwide; and products from foreign businesses with distribution agents in Vietnam…

Successfully organizing these fairs not only stimulates product consumption and brings OCOP products closer to people and tourists, but also provides opportunities for producers and processors to find and meet business partners, promote trade, and connect with consumers. As a result, over 80 OCOP products from Quang Ninh have now entered major distribution systems, supermarkets, and shopping centers such as Go! Winmart and Coop Mart.

It can be said that over the years, Quang Ninh's OCOP products have gradually affirmed their position and brand in the hearts of consumers. This has contributed to the successful implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" and "Quang Ninh people prioritize using goods and services produced and traded within Quang Ninh province".
