On October 14th, a significant event for ballroom dancing enthusiasts took place in Lao Cai ward. A large number of dancers from various ballroom dancing clubs gathered on a large stage to celebrate the founding of the Anh Duong Ballroom Dancing Club, which now has over 20 members of different ages.

The music blared, and dancers in vibrant costumes moved rhythmically to the steps of Latin dances such as Chachacha, Samba, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble, and European-style Standard dances like Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Quickstep… Some dancers, even those of advanced age, performed captivating and energetic dances with great enthusiasm.
Ms. Tran Thi Luot, head of the Anh Duong Dance Club, said: "The Anh Duong Dance Club has 22 members, aged from 45 to 65. Every morning, from 6:00 to 7:30, we gather at one location to practice dances ranging from easy to difficult. Recently, we have invited a coach to teach each dance. The members are all very enthusiastic and dedicated to practicing. After each practice session, everyone feels a noticeable improvement in their health and a refreshed spirit. Moreover, the members of the club are becoming increasingly close-knit, united, and supportive of each other in their work and lives."

Besides the Anh Duong Dance Club, over 20 sports dance clubs have been established and maintained well in the communes and wards of the former Lao Cai province. Each sports dance club has 20 to 30 members of various ages, from young people to middle-aged and elderly individuals. This has contributed to the strong development of the sports dance movement within the community.
According to Mr. Duong Trung Hoa, a member of the Sa Pa Dance Club, dancing offers many benefits, both improving health and contributing to a better quality of life. Despite being 68 years old, Mr. Hoa feels healthy, refreshed, and optimistic thanks to practicing ballroom dancing.

In fact, the recent development of sports dance clubs in the province confirms that this is a beneficial and attractive playground, attracting a large number of members. The establishment of the Lao Cai Dance Association in 2025 will create favorable conditions to further promote the development of this movement.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Mui, Chairman of the Lao Cai Dance Association: "Sports dancing is an artistic sport that brings many benefits, helping each person develop a balanced physical and mental state through practice. The establishment of the Lao Cai Dance Association will create opportunities for clubs to interact, exchange experiences, continuously improve health and professional quality, and at the same time create a beneficial playground for the public to participate in training; promoting the dance movement in general and sports dancing in particular in the province to develop further."
