Difficulties in clearing the North railway line.

Severe railway landslides caused by heavy rain in Ha Tinh province have rendered trains unable to operate.

Regarding the remediation of landslides on the North-South railway line through Ha Tinh province, Mr. Cao Tien Hung, Director of Nghe Tinh Railway Joint Stock Company, told reporters from Giao Thong Newspaper that at the landslide locations, thousands of cubic meters of soil from the railway embankment have slid down into the Ngan Sau River. In some places, the landslide is up to 60 meters long and 10 meters deep, suspending the railway tracks. In addition, soil and trees from the positive embankment have also fallen onto the railway.

"Railway units are focusing on repairs. However, due to the severe landslide and its inconvenient location in terms of road access, rescue and repair work cannot be completed today," Mr. Hung said.

The Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company stated that the railway is currently developing transportation plans due to the impact of landslides on the North-South railway line in Ha Tinh. It is expected that train SE20 departing from Da Nang and three trains departing from Hanoi today will be suspended. Other trains currently running will continue to transport passengers through the affected area.

The railway company is transferring passengers from trains passing through the lockdown area.

Early this morning (October 30), heavy and prolonged rain caused serious landslides on the North-South railway line at Km 354+900 - Km 355+750 in the Yen Due - Hoa Duyet section (Ha Tinh province), with rocks sliding off the roadbed.

By morning, heavy rain continued, causing serious landslides in many areas of this section, making train service impossible. Two trains, SE1 from Hanoi and SE20 from Da Nang , had to stop and wait for the tracks to be cleared.

Subsequently, railway units safely transported passengers traveling on trains SE1 and SE20 by car between Yen Trung station (Duc Tho, Ha Tinh) and Hoa Duyet station (Vu Quang, Ha Tinh).
