The film is directed by Le Van Kiet (who previously directed the successful film "Hai Phuong"). Filming is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, and the film is scheduled for release on April 30, 2027, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the death of the heroine Vo Thi Sau. Alongside the project announcement, the film crew is also conducting a large-scale casting call in Ho Chi Minh City.

Before "Red Land," Vietnamese cinema had two classic films about the heroine Vo Thi Sau that left a strong impression on audiences: "The Daughter of Red Land" and "Like a Legend." According to producer Nguyen Cao Tung, "Red Land" will feature a character who guides the story and focuses on exploring the journey of the heroine Vo Thi Sau's growth.
