Ready to step onto the front lines
In 2025, with the theme "Vietnamese Youth Proud and Confident in Following the Party," the Youth Union's work and youth movement achieved many outstanding milestones. The work of educating on the Union's ideals was strongly implemented through a series of activities commemorating major national holidays, especially the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. Through political activities, journeys to historical sites, digital propaganda programs, and campaigns such as " Proud of Vietnam ," the Union helped young people deeply understand historical values, fostering patriotism, national pride, and a sense of responsibility to contribute. These activities created a practical training environment, contributing to building a generation of young people steadfast in revolutionary ideals.

In the field of entrepreneurship, the work of supporting young people in starting and developing businesses has seen a comprehensive transformation. According to a report by the Central Youth Union, Youth Union branches at all levels have strongly expanded the ecosystem supporting young entrepreneurs, from providing foundational knowledge training to assisting in accessing capital, technology, and markets. Thousands of innovative youth startup projects have been supported and implemented.
The year 2025 witnessed the widespread and effective spread of the youth volunteer movement. During the year, tens of millions of youth union members and young people participated in volunteer work in many key areas. This included participation in strategic infrastructure projects such as the 500 kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen power line, 3,000 km of expressways, key power projects, and support for the construction and repair of hundreds of thousands of "Great Solidarity" houses for poor, near-poor, and policy beneficiary households.
In particular, young people have left a positive mark in two areas: supporting local governments at both levels and participating in disaster relief efforts. In many provinces and cities, youth have become an "extended arm" of local governments by assisting in the operation of digital platforms, guiding people in using online public services, and installing and activating electronic identification. Community digital transformation teams, with youth union members as their core, have helped improve the quality of local governance, reduce the burden on the administrative apparatus, and contribute to building an efficient and user-friendly digital government model.
With the new movement taking shape for the next term, Vietnamese youth are entering a new phase of development with great aspirations, creative thinking, a sense of responsibility, and a commitment to the community. The Youth Union needs to strongly promote its role in leading the younger generation to continue contributing to the journey of moving the country forward rapidly, strongly, and steadily in the new era.

In disaster prevention and recovery efforts, young people continue to be the vanguard force on the front lines. Many models, such as rapid response teams, youth emergency support teams, and young intellectual volunteers, have proven effective in helping people quickly stabilize their lives after disasters. These achievements affirm the role, responsibility, courage, and dedication of Vietnamese youth in the most challenging tasks facing the community and the country.
Promoting innovation
In 2025, the Youth Union will promote innovation in a substantive manner, closely linked to the country's development needs. Scientific research, technology application, and digital transformation activities will be widely implemented, creating an environment for young people to propose new initiatives and solutions. A series of competitions, forums, and academic playgrounds will be organized to identify and support ideas with potential for application. The Youth Union will also promote the model of community digital technology groups and digital volunteers, contributing to the formation of a youth innovation ecosystem, becoming an important driving force for national digital transformation.

The "Youth Innovation" movement has been strongly implemented in all fields, from learning and scientific research to labor and production, and to administrative work and public service. The application of new technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and digital platforms, to solve practical problems has been strongly embraced by young people. The movement to popularize AI and promote digital literacy has helped raise awareness and digital skills among young people, creating an important foundation for their deep participation in the national digital transformation.
Notably, the Youth Union at all levels has strongly promoted the application of digital technology in economic development, supporting young people in bringing OCOP products to e-commerce platforms, livestreaming sales, and transforming production and consumption chains. This is a suitable solution in the context of digital agriculture, the green economy, and the shifting labor market.
Many initiatives in labor, production, processing, and business proposed and implemented by young people have contributed to increased productivity, reduced costs, and improved product quality. Solutions to improve work processes in government agencies, businesses, and localities have also been widely applied, creating clear effectiveness in administrative reform, building digital government at the grassroots level, and improving the quality of service to the people.
Pioneering in the new era
Evaluating the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in 2025, Mr. Vy Tu Lieu, Director of the Department of People's Organizations, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, stated that the results of 2025 have demonstrated the vitality and widespread influence of the Vietnamese youth movement . In the context of the country's strong transformation, young people are not only leading in new fields such as the digital economy and science and technology, but also continue to maintain their pioneering role in important national projects and the most challenging community tasks, increasingly fulfilling their role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Youth Union members and young people.
In his article "The Future for a Rising Generation," General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "In the current new era, the role of youth is becoming increasingly important. Youth are the pillar for leading the country steadily into a new era, the main resource for building and developing new productive forces, and the pioneering force participating in new fields. Youth are the future masters of the country, an important factor in building national values, cultural values, family values, and the standards of Vietnamese people."
This task places an urgent requirement on the Youth Union in the coming term: to build a widespread, leading action movement that is appropriate to the context of the country entering a period of comprehensive digital transformation and deep integration.
Sharing his thoughts on the "Vietnamese Youth Pioneering in the New Era" movement, expected to be launched at the 13th National Congress of the Youth Union, Mr. Vy Tu Lieu stated that it is a very meaningful movement that can inspire and unite the aspirations, intellect, and innovative spirit of the younger generation. The movement comprises five key areas: pioneering in the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; pioneering in legitimate wealth creation and national economic development; pioneering in international integration; pioneering in volunteer activities for the community; and pioneering in participating in national defense.
According to Mr. Vy Tu Lieu, five pioneering initiatives form the foundation for unleashing the power of youth to develop the country; helping Vietnamese youth affirm their character, intelligence, and role in the new era. "With the new movement being shaped for the next term, Vietnamese youth are entering a new stage of development with great aspirations, creative thinking, a sense of responsibility, and a commitment to the community. The Youth Union needs to strongly promote its role in leading the younger generation to continue contributing to the journey of moving the country forward quickly, strongly, and steadily in the new era," said Mr. Vy Tu Lieu.
