(BDO) On the morning of May 28, the Binh Duong New City Football Tournament - The 5th Becamex IDC Cup in 2023 was officially opened solemnly at the Exhibition Center (WTC EXPO) - Binh Duong New City . This is the 11-a-side football tournament that attracts the most teams and is the oldest in the country.

To maintain the tournament for nearly 20 years as it is today is a great effort of Becamex IDC Company, the initiator and sponsor throughout to this day. Stemming from the decision to create a healthy playground, serving the needs of sports training for officials and employees of companies located in the province, and universities in the province every weekend. After that, the tournament expanded to neighboring localities and attracted more and more registrations of teams.

There are times when the number of teams registered to participate exceeds 200 teams, in addition to the teams in Binh Duong province, there are teams from neighboring localities. In recent years, the tournament has also increased its attraction with the presence of many famous players and teams in the village of Phui in the southern region. This year's tournament has the participation of 155 teams. At the previous technical meeting, the teams were divided into 4 qualifying areas, competing on the fields: Deep Industrial Park VSIP I - Thuan An, Provincial Stadium (BC training ground), New City Central Stadium Binh Duong and My Phuoc Industrial Park 1 - Ben Cat.
155 teams are divided into 40 groups to compete in the qualifying round from May 28 to August 5. According to the tournament rules, the VSIP I Industrial Park area and the Provincial Stadium area (subfield): Select 6 teams (class I, II, III and IV) to compete in the final round; New City Stadium area: Select 8 teams (classes I, II, III, IV and 4 out of 5 teams that lost in the quarterfinals) to compete in the final round; The area of My Phuoc Industrial Park 01: Select 4 teams (class I, II, III) to compete in the final round.
This year, the tournament organizers continue to support the teams participating in the tournament. Besides providing each team with 2 sets of competition costumes. In the group stage, the Organizing Committee will support each team 2 million VND; From the 2nd round to the final round, an additional 500.000 VND/team will be supported. The four highest-ranked teams in the qualifying groups will enter the final round, in this round the teams from 1 to 4 will receive trophies, flags and bonuses of 30 million, 20 million, 15 million and 10 million dong, respectively. At the finals, the Organizing Committee supported each team 1 million VND, the teams competed in the knockout format to the final. The prize money for the final champion team is 100 million VND. The following rankings receive 60 million, 40 million and 20 million dong and other side prizes, respectively.
Right after the opening ceremony, at 9:28 am on May 5, the first two matches in the New City Stadium area were also held between Cafe 88 FC – Indochina Driver Tel (table 34) and Hoa Sat Steel – Tien Phat Wood (Table 28).
