Introducing the finest traditional crafts of Hanoi.
The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival is an annual event directed by the Hanoi People's Committee and implemented by the Hanoi Department of Tourism for many years, becoming an attractive activity to promote and stimulate tourism in the capital city. Above all, the festival is an opportunity for Hanoi to introduce to tourists the exquisite products of its traditional craft villages.
This year, the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival, themed "Hanoi Tourism – A World Heritage Destination," aims for a fresh approach: promoting heritage not only through images and documents but also through traditional handicrafts such as Van Phuc silk, Bat Trang ceramics, hand-carved souvenirs, tea boxes, rice flake packets, and exquisite hand embroidery. Each gift tells a unique story of culture and embodies the soul of Hanoi.

Speaking with a reporter from Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Tran Thi Ngoc Lan, Vice President of the Van Phuc Silk Weaving Village Association, shared that every year, Van Phuc silk village participates in the festival with a booth, hoping to further promote the essence of the craft village. “Van Phuc silk products have changed a lot. Through the continuous creativity of the artisans, Van Phuc silk can be used to create hundreds of diverse gift items with beautiful designs and high applicability, such as handbags, wallets, accessories for ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), coasters… At this year's festival, the booth of Van Phuc silk artisans continues to showcase products that are popular in the market, including many designs that have been exported,” Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Lan stated.

At the Bat Trang pottery village booth, many exquisite pottery products in various styles attracted a large number of visitors for sightseeing and shopping. Artisan Phuong Oanh from Bat Trang pottery village said: “Participating in the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2025, we are bringing meaningful, unique, and exquisitely handcrafted gifts such as hand-molded pottery. In addition, we are organizing a pottery-making experience space right on-site, allowing visitors to personally participate in some stages of the process and deeply appreciate the value of labor and the meticulous effort behind each product.”
Besides products from the two famous traditional craft villages, visitors can also admire many exquisite gifts from various other organizations and businesses. Many stalls also organize hands-on activities such as making products on the spot.
Creative spaces for connection.
Beyond showcasing exquisite traditional craft products and attractive tourist tours, the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival is also a creative space with expanded connections to many provinces and cities. Visitors can experience the unique tourism and culinary spaces of Hanoi and several other localities, notably Phu Yen and Co To (Quang Ninh).

"We want to introduce Phu Yen's specialty, ocean tuna – a dish that is very popular with tourists. This is an opportunity for localities, including Phu Yen, to connect tours and routes and effectively promote tourism to the Hanoi market," said a representative of the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
A highlight of this year's festival was the arrival of a delegation of world-class pickleball athletes, including sports stars such as Jack Sock, Genie Bouchard, and Tyson McGuffin. The athletes expressed their admiration for participating in the festival's various activities. Joining the athletes in the experience, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong shared: “Organizing experiential activities for athletes at the festival is a very effective way to promote the image of Hanoi – a place where traditional values blend with dynamism and modernity.”

Another new feature of the festival is the Hanoi tourism digital transformation space, showcasing virtual reality (VRT) technology in tourism. These technology-based experiences attracted a large number of visitors, especially young people. In addition, many cultural and artistic activities throughout the three days of the festival contributed to creating a unique and creative cultural space. Visitors enjoyed many performances of Hanoi's intangible cultural heritage, such as: Ca Tru singing, Ai Lao singing and dancing (Long Bien district), Do singing (Quoc Oai district), Dao Thuc water puppetry (Dong Anh district), tug-of-war (Long Bien district), etc.

As a visitor experiencing the festival, Ms. Nguyen Hong Hai (Long Bien district) shared: “The festival has many diverse and attractive activities for my whole family to enjoy and shop. I am very impressed with the exquisite gift products of the artisans from Hanoi's craft villages.”

The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2025 truly provided an attractive cultural and tourism experience for locals and tourists. The Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism expressed that, through the festival, the organizing committee hoped to contribute to the development of the gift industry, while telling the story of heritage values in a vivid and relatable way, so that each gift becomes a cultural ambassador carrying the spirit of Thang Long (Hanoi) to spread far and wide. This is a way for the love of Hanoi to extend beyond mere experiences, accompanying tourists to all parts of the country and the world.
