By 2026, Thanh Hoa's tourism industry aims to welcome approximately 16.8 million visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching around 49.5 trillion VND. This figure clearly demonstrates the province's determination to transform tourism into a key economic sector.

To contribute to realizing this goal, the province has proactively developed a plan to organize many activities to attract tourists. According to the event schedule announced by the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 100 typical events will take place in the province in 2026, and in April alone, nearly 30 outstanding cultural, sports and tourism events will be held in many localities, ranging from traditional festivals and community cultural programs to amateur sports competitions and unique tourism experiences.

Notably, these events are not only held in the province's major tourist centers but also in many localities, satellite tourist areas, and recently emerging tourist destinations. This creates spatial connections and enriches the exploration journey for tourists. The cultural spaces and festivals are designed to be open and welcoming, allowing visitors to discover the cultural depth of the destination through stories, customs, and daily life. This demonstrates that Thanh Hoa tourism is truly aiming for a tourist-centric approach, using visitor experience and satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness.

Only when tourism products and services satisfy tourists will their spending increase and encourage repeat visits. The Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism's announcement of the list of 100 outstanding events in 2026 is not simply a continuation of previous years' practices, but above all, demonstrates the province's determination to build a dynamic and attractive tourism environment, with carefully selected events focusing on quality and depth rather than quantity. Therefore, 2026 is hoped to make Thanh Hoa a truly "booming" destination – a place where every tourist finds memorable experiences and wants to return to explore further.

Gone are the days of developing tourism based on "whatever is available" or "selling raw resources" without regenerating or innovating tourism products. Instead of passively waiting for tourists, Thanh Hoa's proactive approach in creating "Fragrance of Four Seasons" to attract visitors demonstrates its strategic planning for achieving its goals. While Thanh Hoa's tourism targets for 2026 are quite ambitious, the steps taken to realize them are equally challenging.
