Destroyers and oil tankers from the Russian Pacific Fleet docked at Cam Ranh International Port as part of a two-day visit.

A Russian military task force, including the anti-submarine destroyer Admiral Panteleyev and the medium-sized tanker Pechenga, belonging to the Pacific Fleet, docked at Cam Ranh port in Khanh Hoa province on December 2nd.

Russian officers and sailors will participate in sports exchanges with officers and sailors of the Vietnam People's Navy, as well as visit several historical and cultural sites in Nha Trang city.

The Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Timur Sadykov, stated that Cam Ranh "has been a reliable logistical support point for ships of the Pacific Fleet for the past two decades."

According to Sadykov, the visits of Russian sailors to Vietnamese ports "make an important contribution to strengthening the friendly relations and comprehensive partnership between the two countries for peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region and the world."

The Admiral Panteleyev destroyer, of the Project 11551 Fregat class, has a displacement of 7,900 tons, is 163 m long, can travel at a maximum speed of 65 km/h, and has a range of approximately 19,400 km. The warship carries two Ka-27 helicopters.

The warship is equipped with two AK-100 100 mm naval guns, two sets of four Rastrub-B anti-submarine missile launchers, eight Kinzhal anti-aircraft missile launchers, two sets of twelve RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launchers, two sets of four 533 mm torpedo launchers, and four AK-630M close-in defense systems.
