The play "Life" was staged for the occasion of April 30th.

In anticipation of the national holiday on April 30th, the Doi theater group is diligently rehearsing the play "The Time of Girlhood is Gone," written by Nguyen Thu Phuong and directed by the late Doan Ba, which once garnered great acclaim.

The play "Life: The Days of Girlhood" is a remake directed by young director Vo Lam Thach and will premiere on the evening of April 29th at venue number 84 Nguyen Du, Ho Chi Minh City.

The days of her youth are long gone, filled with the emotions of a female volunteer.

"The Days of My Youth Are Gone" is a poignant play about Dieu, a young female volunteer on the Truong Son battlefield in the past.

Bombs and bullets disfigured Dieu's face and body. Because of her longing to have a child, Dieu was disciplined for her illegitimate pregnancy.

This woman, who suffered so much, silently endured pain from wartime to peacetime. But in every circumstance, she shone with an unwavering spirit, daring to face and overcome difficulties with dignity and integrity, true to the character of a soldier.

Veteran artists such as Kim Xuan and Dam Loan... have left their mark with this play. Artist Kim Xuan's portrayal of Dieu is considered one of her most memorable roles.

Because the character's face was disfigured by bombs, forcing her to constantly wear a headscarf, the actor's performance required immense skill to win over the audience.

When staging the play " The Days of Youth Are Gone ," Hong Trang – the leader of the Doi theater group – played the character Dieu. Hong Trang is a familiar face on many stages in Ho Chi Minh City such as The Gioi Tre, San Khau Moi, and the 5B Theater... but she still strives to maintain Doi, a theater group that is considered one of the "early" generations of the café theater trend.

Although it's a café theater model, Đời is highly regarded for its serious productions, with lengths and quality approaching those of plays on larger stages. It is precisely because of this "reputation" that Đời has survived for 16 years, while many other café theater groups have faded away.

Besides Hong Trang, the play also features actors Vu Tran, Nghinh Loc, Bao Chau, Ky Thao, Nha Uyen, Vo Ngoc Tan, Vo Ngoc Tien...
