Upon inspection, it was found that this facility was operating without the required license, and the animal quarantine certificate issued by the authorities of Tay Ninh province listed the location as Bo Van Khuya slaughterhouse (Thuan Giao ward), not Tan Dong Hiep ward. All violations were documented and processed by the authorities, and all confiscated items were destroyed to ensure disease safety.

| Authorities inspect poultry products being sold in Thoi Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City. |
In recent times, the awareness of many traders and small business owners in Ho Chi Minh City regarding compliance with veterinary hygiene and food safety regulations has improved significantly. Many establishments are paying more attention to the origin of goods, storage conditions, quarantine regulations, and slaughter control. However, the illegal slaughter of animals and poultry, and the trading of animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene standards, remain complex issues in some communes and wards. Products that lack the "three no's" (unknown origin, no quarantine, and no veterinary hygiene standards) pose a high risk to food safety.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine of Ho Chi Minh City, during recent intensified surprise inspections, the Department has observed that some individuals, driven by profit, continue to deliberately violate food safety regulations, and illegal slaughtering activities are becoming increasingly sophisticated. All establishments violating the law are being severely punished. Along with inspections and enforcement, the authorities are also focusing on disseminating information, training, and publicizing legal regulations on veterinary medicine, food safety, and slaughter control to raise awareness among organizations and individuals involved in production and business activities. Simultaneously, the public is encouraged to take greater responsibility and work together to combat unsafe food.
Currently, the transition from hot, dry weather to the rainy season in Southern Vietnam creates favorable conditions for the development of livestock and poultry diseases. According to recommendations from Ho Chi Minh City authorities, poultry farms, transporters, and slaughterhouses must strictly comply with regulations on quarantine, registration, and veterinary hygiene to help control disease outbreaks and protect public health. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine will lead and coordinate with inter-agency forces to increase the frequency of surprise inspections of animal and poultry slaughterhouses and transport vehicles at the city's gateways, ensuring that no "three-no" (no proper labeling, no proper labeling, no proper labeling, no proper labeling, no proper labeling) food is present in the city's meals.
