Persevere in pursuing your goals.

Over the past 24 years, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has chosen many meaningful slogans as themes for Vietnam Family Day (June 28) each year. And for the past three consecutive years, from 2023 to 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has chosen the same theme for Vietnam Family Day: "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation".

It's understandable, because for a nation to prosper, its people must first be happy, and the nation's happiness index must be high. However, it's easier said than done.

As society develops, the pressure on each family's life increases, and the risk of marital breakdown also grows. A recent survey showed that in some urban areas, one in three married couples is experiencing or facing the risk of divorce. Living single or becoming a single mother is becoming a choice for many women to avoid family tragedy. Traditional extended families with three or four generations living together are gradually disappearing.

Furthermore, when faced with the risk of family breakdown, many people often look for excuses to justify their actions, while very few recognize the problem correctly and proactively build defensive "barriers" to protect their home.

One of the ways to strengthen family bonds after a day of work or study is through the evening meal, yet statistics show that in some cities, up to 40% of families regularly have members absent from home. Many people believe that where the meal is eaten doesn't matter as long as it's convenient. Some people return home when their children are already in bed and leave before they wake up.

Family happiness is not just a goal to strive for, but also a driving force behind the awareness and actions of each individual. Each person must understand that family is a place to return to, a refuge when sad, a place where members laugh together when happy, and a place of protection and support when facing difficulties. Family comes first and needs the most care and protection. Activities and recommendations for Vietnamese Family Day should not be seen merely as a recurring event, but as an opportunity to honor the values of the Vietnamese family, and more importantly, as a chance for each person to reflect on their own family and themselves, to see what they have accomplished and what they need to do next. Relevant agencies should assess the achievements in building a harmonious family life and identify remaining challenges.

For the third consecutive year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has chosen the slogan "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation" as the theme for Vietnamese Family Day, demonstrating a steadfast and very clear objective. What is needed is for each of us to take concrete action to make that a reality as soon as possible.
