Opening Ceremony of the Tet (Lunar New Year) Celebration for Soldiers and Civilians in Tra Con Commune

On the evening of April 14th, at Chua Moi Pagoda (Thon Ron hamlet, Tra Con commune), the People's Committee of Vinh Long province solemnly organized the opening ceremony of the Military-Civilian Tet festival, on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet of the Khmer ethnic group.

On the evening of April 14th, at Chua Moi Pagoda (Thon Ron hamlet, Tra Con commune), the People's Committee of Vinh Long province solemnly organized the opening ceremony of the Military-Civilian Tet festival, on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet of the Khmer ethnic group.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Trang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, mass organizations, forces participating in the Tet Military-Civilian Festival, and a large number of local people.

The Tet activities organized by the military and civilians during the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet festival demonstrate the care and concern of the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, provincial departments, agencies, political and social organizations, and armed forces for policy beneficiary families, families in difficult circumstances, and the Khmer ethnic minority. At the same time, they further strengthen the close-knit relationship between the military and civilians in the cause of national construction and defense, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for the Khmer ethnic minority to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay Tet in a warm and peaceful manner.

In her opening remarks at the Tet Military-Civilian Festival, Comrade Nguyen Thi Be Muoi requested that the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee closely monitor the plan, keep abreast of the activities, and coordinate closely with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to manage the program scientifically , avoid overlaps, and create favorable conditions for all forces to complete their tasks. Absolute safety and effectiveness must be ensured throughout the duration of the activities. All participating forces must uphold a high sense of responsibility and strictly comply with all regulations of the Organizing Committee.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Party Committee, the government, political and social organizations, and the people of Tra Con commune actively participate in activities through practical actions, bringing the celebratory atmosphere of Chol Chnam Thmay to everyone in every household of the Khmer ethnic community, creating a joyful, enthusiastic, united, and highly determined spirit in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

The 2026 Military-Civilian Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration, themed "Military-Civilian Tet Celebrating Chol Chnam Thmay," will take place over two days, April 14th and 15th, with activities such as constructing transportation infrastructure; giving gifts to families receiving preferential treatment and scholarships; organizing free medical examinations and providing free medicine; cultural and sports exchanges; product displays; document exhibitions; and a cooking competition.

Also at the opening ceremony, the organizing committee awarded 20 scholarships and 20 bicycles to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, 30 gifts to families receiving preferential treatment and those in need, and presented symbolic plaques for the construction of solidarity houses for 10 families.
