Agricultural production in Kim Bon has recently changed in the direction of crop diversification, increased productivity, and expansion of key crop areas. In 2025, the total cultivated area of the commune reached 2,116 hectares, exceeding the plan by 106%. In particular, new crops such as: Dong rieng, banana, cardamom, bamboo shoots... are bringing in stable income, contributing to the gradual formation of raw material areas associated with processing. In particular, 32 hectares of macadamia in the villages of Suoi On, Suoi Kenh, Suoi Vach, which were planted on a pilot basis, have shown positive signs, of which 12 hectares have begun to be harvested, opening up a promising direction in the development of long-term industrial crops.
Kim Bon was established on the basis of merging two communes Kim Bon and Da Do. After the merger, the commune has an area of 104 km², with more than 1,700 households of Mong, Dao, and Muong ethnic groups living there. Mr. Ngo Duc Duong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Bon commune, said: The locality faces difficulties due to sloping, infertile land; cultivating corn and upland rice according to old practices gives low productivity. Faced with that reality, the commune focuses on guiding people to apply new techniques, change crop structure, and at the same time strengthen disease prevention and protect livestock. Despite being affected by unusual weather, thanks to being proactive and flexible, last year, Kim Bon still ensured its agricultural production target. Up to now, the commune's poverty rate has decreased to 26.94%.
Identifying the construction of new rural areas as a key, long-term task, Kim Bon commune mobilizes the joint efforts of the entire political system and people, promotes internal strength, mobilizes resources to build new rural areas. Up to now, the commune has achieved 7/19 criteria, in which the most prominent are the criteria of irrigation, electricity, information and communication, employment, education and national defense - security. Prioritizing traffic development, currently, many routes in Kim Bon are being deployed, such as: Da Do - Kim Bon, Bai Vang - Lien Hop, Suoi Vach - Suoi Tieu... When completed, these traffic routes will create favorable conditions for transporting agricultural products, promoting local economic development.
Suoi On village is a bright spot in the implementation of new rural areas in Kim Bon, Mr. Vang A Lu, Party cell secretary, village head, shared: We determined that the most important thing is to change people's awareness of building new rural areas, exemplary cadres and party members take the lead to create trust and influence to the people. Up to now, the road of more than 4 km from the commune headquarters to the village has been concreted thanks to the capital of the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, helping to facilitate traffic and make it easier for people to transport agricultural products.
Along with economic development, Kim Bon pays special attention to building a cultural life. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" is widely deployed. In 2025, the commune has 1,138 households achieving the title of cultural family, reaching a rate of 64.6%; 6/13 villages achieving the title of cultural village, 13 football teams, 13 art teams maintained regularly. Many ethnic sports, such as crossbow shooting, stick pushing, tug of war are preserved and promoted during holidays and Tet, contributing to preserving the cultural identity of ethnic groups. The fields of education and people's health care have achieved many important results, social security continues to be guaranteed.
Sharing about Kim Bon's development orientations in the coming time, Mr. Ngo Duc Duong, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, informed: Kim Bon continues to develop agriculture and forestry in a sustainable direction; maintain livestock farming associated with disease prevention; promote forest planting and protection; well implement national target programs, especially poverty reduction and new rural construction. In the social field, the commune focuses on improving the quality of education, taking care of people's health, ensuring social security; building a healthy cultural environment; promoting digital transformation in management and operation. Along with that, strengthening the national defense posture associated with the people's security posture; maintaining a strong grassroots political system.
Entering a new development stage, Kim Bon continues to promote the spirit of solidarity, exploit potentials, build an increasingly developed locality, move towards the goal of achieving new rural standards, and firmly step on the journey of building a rich, beautiful and civilized homeland.
