In the 3-3 draw against Italy on the morning of March 24th, Kimmich opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 30th minute, before providing two assists for Musiala and Kleindienst to score. He had a pass accuracy rate of 93% and created five scoring opportunities for his teammates.
In the first leg, the Bayern Munich star also delivered a brilliant performance with two assists, setting up goals for Kleindienst and Leon Goretzka. In both matches, Kimmich shone when deployed as a right-back.
At 30 years old, Kimmich is a key player for coach Julian Nagelsmann in the German national team. After two appearances in the Nations League, the versatile star has impressive statistics with 1 goal and 4 assists.
Kimmich's versatility is a major plus. Coach Nagelsmann admitted he already had too many central midfielders, so moving Kimmich to the right wing was the optimal solution.

On March 20th, Kimmich also decided to continue his commitment to Bayern Munich with a new contract extending until 2029. “When you play for a club like Bayern, feeling comfortable in Munich, having your children and family there, that’s definitely an important factor. But the club itself is another big reason,” he said.
Since making his first-team debut under manager Pep Guardiola in 2015, Kimmich has risen to become an indispensable mainstay, even wearing the captain's armband for the club, winning a total of 20 major and minor titles.
Wearing the national team jersey, Kimmich has consistently performed well and is considered a key player in Germany's quest for the 2026 World Cup.
