Mr. Zhang Huanmu, from Wuhan, China, has attracted attention for his unique exercise method: cycling while balancing heavy objects on his head. He has persistently practiced this unusual sport for a long time in Jiangxia District, Wuhan City.

Mr. Truong Huan Moc carried a millstone while climbing the mountain.
Since 2000, Zhang Huanmu began hiking up Mount Bafen, then switched to weightlifting. From 2002, he started cycling while balancing stone slabs on his head, later switching to a stone mill and gradually increasing the weight to several tens of pounds (1 Chinese pound is equivalent to about 0.5-0.6 kg). At the same time, he also tied sandbags to his feet and cycled about 10 km every morning, rain or shine.

"It hurt a little at first, but over time the headache disappeared," Mr. Truong shared. "When it was first placed on my head, the top of my head flattened out, but after sleeping for a night, it returned to its original shape, just like a leather ball," Mr. Truong recounted about placing heavy objects on his head.
Mr. Truong continued: "There were times when I was completely exhausted, and I even thought about giving up. But if I didn't carry the load for a week, I would lose my balance, and I wouldn't be able to lift it again the next time; my muscles would gradually atrophy. Moreover, overcoming that challenging period brings a great sense of joy."
He joined the Jiangxia County Environmental Protection Volunteer Association, often displaying environmental protection flags on his vehicle while traveling to promote public benefits. He once carried a stone mill on his head in walking, running, and cycling competitions, winning awards. His unique exercise methods sparked much discussion, with health experts advising that exercise should be tailored to each individual's physical condition.

Zhang Huanmu's training methods have faced mixed opinions.
Zhang Huanmu began hiking up Bafen Mountain in 2000. In 2002, he started cycling while balancing stones on his head. After accidentally finding an abandoned stone mill, he switched to balancing the mill on his head while cycling.
Every morning, around 4 a.m., Truong Huan Moc wakes up and cycles about 10 kilometers, rain or shine. He ties 24-pound (approximately 12kg) sandbags to his legs. His training route starts from the intersection of Tan Hung Street, passes through narrow streets and alleys, then into Bat Phan Mountain, climbing the steepest steps, reaching inclines of about 60-70 degrees.
The weight of the objects lifted gradually increased from the stone slab to the mortar, ranging from 30 pounds, 40 pounds, 56 pounds, 68 pounds to 80 pounds (approximately 40 kg). As of 2022, at the age of 59, Truong Huan Moc had persevered in his training for 21 years.
Around 2013, Zhang Huanmu joined the Jiangxia County Environmental Protection Volunteer Association. He often displayed an environmental volunteer flag on his bicycle to promote public service while exercising.

Doctors advise people not to imitate the actions of Mr. Truong Huan Moc.
His training methods were met with skepticism from neighbors and discouragement from traffic police. Dr. Yang Guangzhou of the Jiangxia District Traditional Medicine Hospital offered advice on this method: "Mr. Zhang's dedication to health training is commendable. However, training should be done step by step, depending on each person's physical condition, and one should not overexert themselves to the point of injury. For ordinary people, the purpose of exercise is to improve physical fitness; dangerous training methods like this should not be imitated."
According to Baidu, Zhang Xunmu walked 9 km on the East Lake Green Trail while balancing a millstone on his head and won the Innovation Award, as well as finishing as runner-up in the Men's Challenge group at the 2021 Summer Mountaineering Festival.
Because of this unique training method of balancing heavy objects on his head, Zhang Xunmu was called "The Extraordinary Man" or "The Iron-Headed Man" by the people of Jiangxia County. Due to a bald patch on the top of his head caused by the pressure of the millstone, he always wore a hat when going outside, no matter how hot the weather was.

Mr. Zhang Huanmu is known by the people of Jiangxia County as "The Extraordinary Man" or "The Extraordinary Man with the Iron Head Technique".
Some of his neighbors also disagreed with this method, claiming it would cause serious injury to the neck and shoulders. Facing these criticisms, Zhang Xunmu responded, "I only want to use this method to raise awareness of health and fitness among all the people of Jiangxia."
His story, due to its unique nature, attracted media attention; he even appeared on Wuhan Television and Anhui Satellite TV while carrying a millstone on his head.
As he got older, although he was no longer as reckless as before, Zhang Xunmu still set himself a strict training schedule each week: 3 days of running, 2 days of mountain climbing while balancing a millstone on his head, and 2 days of cycling while balancing a millstone on his head.
At the end of the morning training session, Mr. Truong did a few somersaults on the grass to loosen up his body, then once again placed the millstone on his head and leisurely cycled home.
