Yongmeori Coast features cliffs formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago.

During our student life, there are moments, though fleeting, that become beautiful memories we will cherish forever. For me, the trip to Jeju organized by Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) is one such memory. It wasn't just a simple sightseeing trip, but also the last trip with my classmates before graduation, marking the end of a meaningful journey through youth in South Korea .

The trip started early when all the students gathered at the school's C1 building to travel together to Gimhae Airport. The atmosphere was incredibly lively and exciting. After years of studying, doing assignments, internships, and preparing for their future after graduation, this was a rare opportunity for the whole class to relax and enjoy time together. Traveling by plane to Jeju made the trip even more exciting.

Immediately upon arriving at Jeju Airport, we met our tour guide. Throughout the bus journey, the guide introduced us to the history, culture, and unique characteristics of Jeju Island. Thanks to this, I understood more about the island known as the "Hawaii of Korea." This reminded me of Vietnam, which also has many famous tourist destinations like Phu Quoc , Quang Ninh, and Nha Trang. Each place has its own beauty, but all offer visitors a relaxing and close-to-nature experience.

Entrance to Camellia Hill - a famous garden with thousands of camellia trees and many other plant species.

Our first destination was Camellia Hill. This is a famous garden with thousands of camellia trees and many other plant species. Strolling along the tree-lined paths, admiring the vibrant flowers, and taking photos with friends made me feel incredibly relaxed. The scenery here reminded me of Da Lat city in Vietnam, with its colorful flower gardens and fresh air. Although in two different countries, both places offer a sense of peace and help people temporarily forget the stresses of life.

After that, we continued on to Yongmeori Coast and Jeongbang Falls. Yongmeori Coast is notable for its cliffs formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago. Standing before this majestic nature, I couldn't help but feel small in the face of the wonders of creation. Meanwhile, Jeongbang Falls made a strong impression as it is one of the very few waterfalls in the world that flows directly into the sea. The sound of the rushing water blending with the sound of the waves created a scene that was both powerful and poetic.

The second day of the trip brought me even more exciting experiences. We visited Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as "Sunrise Peak," a UNESCO World Heritage site. After climbing to the summit, I could see the vast blue sea and the fields stretching into the distance. That moment made me appreciate the unique beauty of Jeju and cherish even more the gifts that nature has bestowed upon us.

The Haenyeo Museum honors Jeju's renowned female divers.

Next, we visited the Haenyeo Museum to learn about Jeju's famous female divers. What impressed me most was their resilience and unwavering work ethic. These women can dive deep underwater to harvest seafood without the need for modern equipment. This reminded me of the fishermen in Vietnam's coastal regions, who also work tirelessly day and night at sea to provide for their families and contribute to the country's economy.

On our last day of the trip, we visited the Osulloc Tea Museum and 9.81 Park. The lush green tea hills at Osulloc created a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the green tea ice cream and learned about Korean tea culture. Afterwards, at 9.81 Park, the whole group participated in exciting games and racing activities. Laughter filled the air, and everyone enjoyed the fun time with their friends. Before leaving Jeju, we also visited Dodu-dong Rainbow Coastal Road with its colorful concrete blocks along the coast. This was an ideal spot to take final photos and preserve memories of the trip.

For me, the greatest value of the trip lies not only in the famous landmarks or the beautiful scenery we saw, but also in the time spent with friends and teachers before graduation. After graduation, each of us will have our own path, perhaps working in different places or even in different countries. Therefore, the Jeju trip was like a special gift that KMOU gave us before we embark on a new chapter in our lives.

Even now, when I recall those moments on the bus, the laughter while taking photos together, or the conversations throughout the journey, I still feel incredibly grateful. The trip to Jeju concluded my student years with beautiful memories, helping me carry not only the knowledge I gained but also precious friendships and experiences. I believe this will always be one of the most memorable memories of my youth.
