According to the Ministry of Education and Training , this is the largest exam ever, with the participation of over 1.1 million candidates nationwide, held at 2,493 examination centers with more than 50,000 examination rooms. Approximately 200,000 personnel are expected to be mobilized to organize the exam, including education officials and teachers, police, military, medical, and electricity workers.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will be held on June 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2025. Specifically, June 25 will be for exam registration procedures; June 26 and 27 will be for exam supervision; and June 28 will be reserved as a contingency day.
Candidates following the 2018 General Education Program take four exams, with Mathematics and Literature being compulsory. In addition, they choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Language).
For candidates studying under the 2006 General Education Program, the exam will include Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language, and one of two subjects: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).
To date, with the urgency, seriousness, responsibility, and proactiveness of the relevant agencies, units, and localities, preparations for the exam have been basically completed. This includes ensuring the security and safety of the exam, especially reviewing the security and safety of the software system, information, data confidentiality, and the transportation of exam papers and answer sheets. The exam plan, organization of teaching and learning, review for 12th-grade students, mock exams, training on regulations and procedures, inspection and supervision, the question bank, and the creation of exam questions have all been carried out meticulously and systematically.
This year, in particular, candidates from both the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program are participating in the exam, with many new and old regulations intertwined. This requires teachers involved in the exam administration to have a thorough understanding of the regulations, thereby creating the most favorable and comfortable environment for the candidates.
In Quang Ninh province, 19,930 candidates will take the 2025 high school graduation exam (an increase of 1,966 candidates compared to 2024), including 336 independent candidates. The province will organize one examination board with 40 examination centers (an increase of 3 centers compared to 2024) and 849 examination rooms (an increase of 64 rooms compared to 2024). Approximately 3,500 people will be mobilized to supervise the exams.
By this point, with thorough and systematic preparation from the outset, Quang Ninh is ready for the exam to be conducted carefully, safely, seriously, objectively, in accordance with regulations, and effectively; absolutely no errors, negative incidents, or violations of exam regulations will occur. The province has directed relevant departments, agencies, and localities to prepare the most favorable conditions for candidates with the motto: No candidate should have to miss the exam due to economic difficulties, transportation problems, or objective obstacles.
With thorough preparation in all aspects, it is certain that the 2025 High School Graduation Examination – an exam taking place during a special period for the country and at the intersection of two educational programs – will be a great success.
