On the afternoon of April 15th, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized a meeting with outstanding intellectuals in 2026.

2025 marks a significant milestone for Lam Dong province as it enters a new phase of development following the merger. By 2025, Lam Dong province's socio-economic development is expected to achieve many positive targets: Budget revenue exceeding 31,500 billion VND; GRDP per capita reaching over 105 million VND; tourism experiencing a breakthrough with over 20 million visitors; and the province attracting 43 new investment projects with a total capital of over 14,300 billion VND. These impressive figures are significantly contributed to by the intellectual workforce across various fields.

Currently, the province has over 70,000 intellectuals, including many leading experts and scientists, professors, associate professors, as well as outstanding teachers, doctors, artists, and artisans.

In 2025 alone, scientific research activities recorded 373 published works; the technical innovation movement had 219 solutions, many initiatives that have been effectively applied to practical production and life.

Scientific seminars, consultations, and social critiques continued to be promoted, providing an important scientific basis for formulating local development policies, including participating in the critique of the province's high-tech zone establishment project.

In the field of healthcare, the team of intellectuals has conducted over 348,000 medical examinations and treatments, thousands of surgeries, and implemented many advanced techniques, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare for the people.

In the field of education and training, scientific research activities in training institutions continue to be promoted, closely linking theory and practice.

Particularly in the agricultural sector – a local strength – many technological advancements have been transferred and effectively applied, contributing to improved productivity, quality, and value of agricultural products.

In addition, the intellectual community actively participates in social and humanitarian activities, awarding thousands of scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing to spreading humanitarian values ​​in the community.

Entering the pivotal year of 2026, Lam Dong province aims for a GRDP growth rate of over 10%, with the goal of welcoming 25 million tourists. The province has identified science and technology, innovation, and the green economy as the main driving forces to overcome bottlenecks and create breakthroughs in development.

At the conference, intellectual delegates focused on discussing and contributing many insightful and heartfelt opinions on key areas. After the merger, Lam Dong province covers an area of ​​over 24,000 km2 and has a population of nearly 4 million people, opening up vast development opportunities with many outstanding potentials and advantages. The province has strengths in industry, especially the mining and processing of titanium, bauxite, and aluminum; the development of renewable energy such as wind and solar power; high-tech agriculture with many distinctive products; and a unique tourism ecosystem connecting "forests and seas".

In particular, the intellectual workforce in the area is identified as a crucial intellectual resource, contributing to promoting innovation, rapid and sustainable development.

However, alongside the advantages, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi also frankly pointed out the difficulties and challenges, especially the lack of synchronized transportation infrastructure, which still poses a risk of localized isolation during the rainy season; and the limited digital infrastructure and human resources serving digital transformation.

In light of this situation, the province is focusing on implementing key infrastructure projects, completing the inter-regional transportation system, upgrading aviation infrastructure, and simultaneously promoting digital transformation, aiming to build a digital economy and a digital society.
